Madhumita Bisht (born Madhumita Goswami on 5 October 1964 at Jalpaiguri) is a former badminton player from West Bengal, India. She is an eight-time National singles champion, nine-time doubles winner and a twelve-time mixed doubles winner. She represented India in the 1992 Olympics in Women's singles discipline. Madhumita Raut is an Indian classical dancer of Odissi. She is the daughter of Mamta Khuntia and Mayadhar Raut, who revived Odissi in the 1950s with Shastra-based knowledge. She lives in Delhi, where she manages and teaches at the Jayantika Association's Mayadhar Raut School of Odissi Dance. Early life and education Madhumita Raut was brought up in Delhi in an atmosphere of dance and music under her father's tutelage. Mitali Madhumita is the second woman officer in the Indian Army to receive a gallantry award. The first woman officer to be awarded Sena Medal for gallantry is Capt (Dr) CR Leena in 1995. Colonel Mitali Madhumita received the Sena Medal in 2011 for exemplary courage shown during the attack on the Indian embassy by terrorists in Kabul, Afghanistan on 26 February 2010,when she was a Major and operations in Jammu-Kashmir and the northeast states of India. Colonel Madhumita went into the Indian embassy which had come under attack and rescued several injured civilians and army personnel from the debris. About nineteen people died in the 2010 Kabul embassy attack including seven Indians. Madhumitha (born Swapna Madhuri on 20 August 1981) is an Indian actress who appears in Telugu and Tamil films. Career Madhumitha started her acting career under her birth name Swapna Madhuri with the 2002 Telugu film ''Sandade Sandadi'' (2002) doing a pivotal supporting role. She continued playing supporting roles in a couple of Telugu films like '' Manmadhudu'' (2002) along with Nagarjuna and Sonali Bendre, ''Ammailu Abbailu'' (2003) and ''Puttintiki Ra Chelli'' (2004) sharing screen space with Arjun and Meena, with the latter in particular becoming a high commercial success, running for 275 days in theatres.
