''Madhu Malti'' () is a coming-of-age 1978 Hindi film directed by Basu Bhattacharya. Produced by Chitra Katha, the film stars Sachin and Sarika in the title roles. This was Gulshan Grover's film debut. The film tells the love story of Madhu and Malti, two college students. The film was released on 25 August 1978 and was certified U by the Central Board of Film Certification. Plot Madhu (Sachin) and Malti (Sarika) are college students, who are assigned by their professor, Anil Sharma, to play the title parts in a college play based on ''Romeo and Juliet''. The two fall in love along the way but are forced to move to a big city to realise their love, as their traditional families oppose to their relationship. The later move to Goa, where a Goan couple looks after them, but soon decide to go back home and confront the situation. Basu Bhattacharya
Basu Bhattacharya (1934–19 June 1997) was an Indian film director of Hindi films. He is perhaps best known for his 1966 film ''Teesri Kasam'', starring Raj Kapoor and Waheeda Rehman (based on the short story "Maare Gaye Gulfam" by Phanishwar Nath 'Renu'), which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in 1967. The most popular and critically acclaimed film which he directed remains ''Avishkaar'', starring Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore, which received five stars in Bollywood Guide ''Collections'' and for which Khanna received the Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1975. Dinesh Thakur
Dinesh Thakur (1947 – 20 September 2012) was an Indian theatre director, actor in theatre, television and Hindi film, where most notably he appeared as one of the leads in ''Rajnigandha'' 1974 and directed by Basu Chatterjee, which won both Filmfare Best Movie Award and the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Movie. Dinesh Thakur was born in 1947 in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. He was the founder-director of ANK productions, a Mumbai-based theatre company, established in 1976. Though he mainly appeared as character roles in Hindi films, as a screenwriter and story writer, he is known for writing the story and screenplay of '' Ghar'' (1978), which won him the 1979 Filmfare Best Story Award. Suresh Wadkar
Suresh Ishwar Wadkar (born 7 August 1955) is an Indian playback singer. He performs in both Hindi and Marathi films. He has sung songs in some Bhojpuri films, Odia albums and bhajans and in Konkani films. He was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for 2018 for Sugam Sangeet. Hemlata (born 16 August 1954) is an Indian classically trained playback singer in Bollywood. She is best known for her songs in the late 1970s, especially Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se song. Mukesh Chand Mathur (22 July 1923 – 27 August 1976), better known mononymously as Mukesh, was an Indian playback singer.
