Madhouse Brigade
''Madhouse Brigade'' is a half-hour sketch comedy series conceived and written by Alexander "Sandy" Marshall, and produced by Alexander Marshall, Dale Keidel and Jim Larkin. It aired in U.S. syndication in 1978 and 1979, and won Marshall an Emmy Award in 1980 as Best Writer of an Entertainment Series. This independent production included appearances by future Saturday Night Live cast member, Joe Piscopo, Ty-D-Bowl Man, Dan Resin as well as Frank Nastasi, also known as the man behind "White Fang" on The Soupy Sales Show. Other cast members included Karen Rushmore, Carlos Carrasco, J.J. Lewis, Bob "Rocket" Ryan and Nola Fairbanks. ''Saturday Night Live'' (often abbreviated to ''SNL'') is an American late-night live television sketch comedy and variety show created by Lorne Michaels and developed by Dick Ebersol that airs on NBC and Peacock. Michaels currently serves as the program's showrunner. The show premiere was hosted by George Carlin on NBC on October 11, 1975, under the original title ''NBC's Saturday Night''. The show's comedy sketches, which often parody contemporary culture and politics, are performed by a large and varying cast of repertory and newer cast members. Each episode is hosted by a celebrity guest, who usually delivers the opening monologue and performs in sketches with the cast, with featured performances by a musical guest. Joe Piscopo
Joseph Charles John Piscopo ( ; born June 17, 1951) is an American actor, comedian and conservative radio talk show host. He was a cast member on ''Saturday Night Live'' from 1980 to 1984, where he played a variety of recurring characters. His film roles include Danny Vermin in ''Johnny Dangerously'' (1984), Moe Dickstein in '' Wise Guys'' (1986), Doug Bigelow in ''Dead Heat'' (1988), and Kelly Stone in '' Sidekicks'' (1992). Early life Piscopo was born in Passaic, New Jersey, and grew up in North Caldwell. He attended West Essex High School and was a member of the drama club "The Masquers." He developed a reputation for never playing a part the way it was written. Dan Resin
Dan Resin (February 22, 1931 – July 31, 2010) was an American actor. Early life Resin was born in South Bend, Indiana. He was three years old when his parents divorced. Resin met his future wife in the seventh grade. He graduated from Indiana University in 1954. While at Indiana University, Resin became a member of the Alpha Iota Chapter of the Theta Chi Fraternity. Shortly after graduation, he was drafted into the military, where he served in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. After his discharge, he finished college at Columbia University in New York City. He worked an assortment of jobs from singer to Master of Ceremonies at the Roxy Theater and later, Radio City Music Hall. Career Dan played many roles on Broadway such as Freddie Eynsford-Hill in ''My Fair Lady'' (1956). Frank Nastasi (January 7, 1923 – June 15, 2004) was an actor and comedian best known for his work with Soupy Sales on the show ''Lunch with Soupy''. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Nastasi played Gramps the animal expert on ''Wixie Wonderland'' before he took over Clyde Adler's role on ''Lunch with Soupy'', playing characters like White Fang, Black Tooth, Pookie, and Hippy. Milton Supman (January 8, 1926 – October 22, 2009), known professionally as Soupy Sales, was an American comedian, actor, radio-television personality, and jazz aficionado. He was best known for his local and network children's television series, ''Lunch with Soupy Sales'' (later titled ''The Soupy Sales Show'') (1953–1966), a series of comedy sketches frequently ending with Sales receiving a pie in the face, which became his trademark. Nola Fairbanks (born Nola Jo Modine; December 10, 1924 – February 8, 2021) was an American actress. She was also the aunt of actor Matthew Modine. Early life Fairbanks was born Nola Jo Modine in Santa Paula, California, on December 10, 1924, the daughter of Zella Vonola Fairbanks and Alexander Revard Modine. She is the granddaughter of Mormon pioneers Ralph Jacobus Fairbanks (aka R.J. "Dad" Fairbanks) and Celestia Adelaide (Johnson) Fairbanks, from Payson, Utah and Death Valley, California. She is a descendant of Jonathan Fairbanks, whose 17th century wood-frame house still stands in Dedham, Massachusetts.
