Françoise Jacob de Montfleury, stage name Mademoiselle Dennebault (floruit, fl. 1661 – 1708), was a French stage actress.Émile Campardon, Les Comédiens du roi de la troupe française pendant les deux derniers siècles, Paris, H. Champion, 1879 She was engaged at the Molière's company in 1661. She became a Sociétaires of the Comédie-Française in 1680. She retired in 1685. She played the tragic heroines Junie (Britannicus, 1669) and Aricie (Phèdre, 1677) by Racine, in the comedies of her brother Antoine de Montfleury, as well as breeches roles of ''La Femme juge'' and ''La Fille capitaine''. Molière's Company
Molière's company (''La Troupe de Molière'') was the theatrical company which formed around Molière from 1648 onwards, when he was performing in the French provinces after the failure of the Illustre Théâtre in 1645. In 1658 the company moved to Paris and, after a successful performance on 24 October 1658 in front of Louis XIV at the Louvre, was allowed to share the large hall in the Hôtel du Petit-Bourbon with the Italian players of Tiberio Fiorillo. At this time Molière's company became known as the Théâtre de Monsieur, since their official sponsor was the King's brother Philippe, Duke of Orléans, known as Monsieur. When the Petit Bourbon was demolished in 1660 to make way for the eastern expansion of the Louvre, Molière's troupe was allowed to use the abandoned Théâtre du Palais-Royal. Sociétaires Of The Comédie-Française
The sociétaires of the Comédie-Française are chosen from among the ''pensionnaires'' who have been in the company a year or more. They are decided upon in the course of a general assembly of the company's administrative committee, made up of 6 existing sociétaires, the senior sociétaire, and the general administrator. A pensionnaire is thus named a societaire by a decree of the Ministry of Culture, from names put forward by the general administrator of the Comédie-Française. On becoming a sociétaire, an actor automatically becomes a member of the ''Société des Comédiens-Français'' and receives a share of the profits as well as receiving a number of shares in the société to which he or she is contractually linked. A breeches role (also pants role or trouser role, or Hosenrolle) is one in which an actress appears in male clothing. Breeches, tight-fitting knee-length pants, were the standard male garment at the time these roles were introduced.
