Madeleine Claire Garrick (born 1 April 1992) is an Australian professional basketball player in the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). Maddie Garrick has been representing Australia in thFIBA WOMEN'S ASIA CUP (2017)anFIBA 3×3 Asia Cup2018-2019). Biography Working her way up through the junior ranks aBulleen Boomers Garrick played for Vic Country at the U16 and U18 AJC's before grabbing a spot with Bendigo Spirit in the WNBL as a 17-year-old. She earned gold at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in 2009 and although she only played in three games, gained valuable experience at the 2011 U19 World Championships where Australia finished fourth. Back in the WNBL, Garrick made the move to the AIS where she received more court time and honed her skills. Women's National Basketball League
The Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) is the pre-eminent professional women's basketball league in Australia. It is currently composed of eight teams. The league was founded in 1981 and is the women's counterpart to the National Basketball League (NBL). Several WNBL teams have NBL counterparts. The Adelaide Lightning, Melbourne Boomers, Perth Lynx, Southside Flyers and Sydney Uni Flames are the current WNBL teams sharing a market with an NBL team (the Townsville Fire and University of Canberra Capitals shared a market with the Townsville Crocodiles and Canberra Cannons respectively, before both NBL clubs became defunct). 2011 FIBA Under-19 World Championship
The 2011 FIBA Under-19 World Championship (Latvian: 2011. gada FIBA pasaules čempionāts līdz 19 gadu vecumam) was the 10th edition of the FIBA U19 World Championship, the biennial international men's youth basketball championship contested by the U19 national teams of the member associations of FIBA. It was hosted by Latvia from 30 June to 10 July 2011. The draw for the tournament took place on 17 February 2011 in Riga. The Dandenong Rangers were an Australian professional women's basketball team competing in the Women's National Basketball League ( WNBL). The club is based in Dandenong, Melbourne, Victoria. The team was founded as the Dandenong Rangers, however before the 2019–20 WNBL season began the team was rebranded to the Southside Flyers, adopting a new logo, colour scheme and nickname. 2013–14 WNBL Season
The 2013–14 WNBL season was the 34th season of the Australian Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) competition since the league's establishment in 1981. A total of 9 teams contested the league. The regular season was played between 4 October 2013 and 15 February 2014, followed by a post-season involving the top five from 22 February 2014 until 9 March 2014. Bendigo Spirit finished the regular season as minor premiers and defeated Townsville Fire to claim back-to-back championships. Broadcast rights were held by free-to-air network ABC. ABC broadcast one game a week, at 3pm at every standard time in Australia. Sponsorship included Wattle Valley, entering its first year as league naming rights sponsor. Spalding provided equipment including the official game ball, with Champion supplying team apparel.
