''Made From Plate'' is an album released by tax-scam label Tiger Lily Records as the debut album of a band called Onion. In reality, like ''Hotgun'', released by Guinness Records the album was a composite, created from unpublished demo recordings made by several different unsigned performers. One of the rarer albums released by Tiger Lily Records, only two copies are known to exist. Album release As the release of a tax scam label, the album came with minimal documentation beyond songwriting credits and claims that the songs had been published by a company owned by Charles Koppelman and Martin Bandier. However, this may be a false claim, in the same way that the documentation on Hotgun claimed that the original songs on that album had been published by R. Stevie Moore's father. Tiger Lily Records
The United States version of '' Tiger Lily Records was a record label that was run by Roulette Records founder Morris Levy. Purportedly it was a tax scam created by Levy and was never intended to make a profit. Tiger Lily's primary modus operandi was to acquire demo tapes from artists or studios and then release them without the artists consent and sometimes without even the artist's knowledge. Other albums released by Tiger Lily have been identified as bootlegs of albums released in the early 1970s by Artie Ripp's Family Productions and two cases of performers who were actually signed to Tiger Lily Records have been identified. The most prominent artists known to have a record released by Tiger Lily were Richard Pryor, whose album ''L.A. Jail'' was released by Tiger Lily, and Rod Stewart, who had a live recording of him in performance at the 1973 Reading and Leeds Festivals released by Tiger Lily in 1976 in music, 1976 under the title ''Reading Festival Featuring Rod Stewart''. ... Hotgun (album)
''Hotgun'' is an album purported to be the self-titled debut record of a band called Hotgun, released by tax-scam label Guinness Records. The album is actually a composite, combining demo recordings made by members of a Nashville area band called Ethos (R. Stevie Moore, Victor Lovera, Roger Ferguson & Billy Anderson), with cover versions of popular songs recorded by employees of Nashville recording studio, Audio Media, originally intended for compilation albums. Album release As the release of a tax scam label, the album came with minimal documentation. While all of the cover versions were credited to the correct songwriters, the original songs were all credited to Victor Lovera, a friend and collaborator of R. Stevie Moore's and fellow member of the band Ethos when in actuality only the two solo acoustic songs ("Joe Pepitone" and "My Father's Son") were written by Lovera himself, with the other original songs being collaborations between Lovera and Moore. Charles Koppelman
Charles Koppelman (March 30, 1940 – November 25, 2022) was an American musician, music producer, and businessman. He held executive positions at EMI and Steve Madden, and he was Chairman of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. At the time of his death, he was the CEO of CAK Entertainment. Early life Koppelman was born to a Jewish family, the son of Ruth and Irving Koppelman. His uncle, Morris Koppelman, held a patent for inventing the egg carton. Career Koppelman broke into the music business as a member of the musical group The Ivy Three which had a Top 10 hit in 1960 entitled "Yogi", after the cartoon Yogi Bear. Martin Bandier
Martin N. "Marty" Bandier (born July 21, 1941) is an American music industry executive who was the CEO/Chairman of Sony/ATV Music Publishing for 11 years. Bandier studied at Stuyvesant High School, Syracuse University, and Brooklyn Law School. He practiced with Battle, Fowler, Jaffin and Kheel, and then became General Counsel to the LeFrak Organization. In 1991, he became chairman and CEO of EMI Music Publishing Worldwide. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. In 2007 he became chairman and CEO of Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Early life and education Bandier was born July 21, 1941, and grew up in Queens. Bob Loyce Moore (November 30, 1932 – September 22, 2021) was an American session musician, orchestra leader, and double bassist who was a member of the Nashville A-Team during the 1950s and 1960s. He performed on over 17,000 documented recording sessions, backing popular acts such as Elvis Presley and Roy Orbison. Bob was also the father of multi-instrumentalist R.
