''Madden NFL 23'' is a 2022 American football video game developed by EA Tiburon and published by Electronic Arts. Based on the National Football League (NFL), it is the thirty-fourth installment in the ''Madden NFL'' series of video games, following the release of '' Madden NFL 22'' (2021). ''Madden NFL 23'' was released in August 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. It also marked the series debut on the Epic Games Store. Former head coach and broadcaster John Madden, whom the game was named after, is the cover star in honor of his death in December 2021. Like previous recent installments, the game received mixed reviews from critics but was declared an improvement from previous games. John Madden
John Earl Madden (April 10, 1936 – December 28, 2021) was an American football coach and sports commentator in the National Football League (NFL). He served as the head coach of the Oakland Raiders from 1969 to 1978, who he led to eight playoff appearances, seven division titles, seven AFL / AFC Championship Game appearances, and the franchise's first Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XI. Never having a losing season, Madden holds the highest winning percentage among NFL head coaches who coached 100 games. After retiring from coaching, Madden was a color commentator for NFL telecasts from 1979 to 2008, which earned him 16 Sports Emmy Awards. Madden appeared on all four major American television networks, providing commentary for games broadcast by CBS, Fox, ABC, and NBC. Epic Games Store
The Epic Games Store is a digital video game storefront for Microsoft Windows and macOS, operated by Epic Games. It launched in December 2018 as both a website and a standalone launcher, of which the latter is required to download and play games.
