Madaí Pérez
Madaí Pérez Carrillo (born 2 February 1980 in Tlaxcala) is a Mexican long-distance runner. She represented Mexico in the marathon at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics and 2016 Summer Olympics. Career Her first full marathon race was the 2003 Chicago Marathon, where she finished twelfth in 2:31:34. She finished fifth over 10,000 metres at the 2003 Pan American Games. She won the Bolder Boulder 10K race in 2004, and also won the Guadalajara Half Marathon that year, in the first of three consecutive wins. In 2005, she finished eleventh in the marathon at the World Championships in a personal best time of 2:26:50, and sixth at the 2005 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships. In 2006, she finished fourth at the Chicago Marathon in a new Mexican record time of 2:22:59. In the 2007 Boston Marathon she came in third (2:30:16). Tlaxcala City
Tlaxcala, officially Tlaxcala de Xicohténcatl (), is the capital city of the Mexican state of Tlaxcala and seat of the municipality of the same name. The city did not exist during the pre-Hispanic period but was laid out by the Spanish as a center of evangelization and governance after the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire. Germán Silva
Germán Silva Martínez (born 9 January 1968 in Zacatlán, Puebla) is a Mexican former long-distance runner who specialized in the marathon. His foremost achievements were back-to-back victories at the New York City Marathon in 1994 and 1995. He represented Mexico twice at the Summer Olympics, in 1992 and 1996. He also competed at the World Championships in Athletics on two occasions. His personal best for the marathon is two hours, eight minutes, and 56 seconds. Outside marathon running, he was the silver medallist at the 1994 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships (where he set the Mexican record of 1:00:28) and won a gold medal in the steeplechase at the 1990 Central American and Caribbean Games. Athletics at the 2008 Summer Olympics were held during the last ten days of the games, from August 15 to August 24, 2008, at the Beijing National Stadium. The Olympic sport of athletics is split into four distinct sets of events: track and field events, road running events, and racewalking events. Both men and women had very similar schedules of events. Men competed in 24 events and women in 23, as their schedule lacked the 50 km race walk. In addition, both the men's 110 m hurdles and decathlon are reflected in the women's schedule by the 100 m hurdles and heptathlon, respectively. The Olympic record was broken in 17 returning events. Catherine Ndereba
Catherine Nyambura Ndereba (born 21 July 1972) is a Kenyan marathon runner. She has twice won the marathon at the World Championships in Athletics and won silver medals at the Summer Olympic Games in 2004 and 2008. She is also a four-time winner of the Boston Marathon. Ndereba broke the women's marathon world record in 2001, running 2:18:47 at the Chicago Marathon. New York Mini 10K
The Mastercard New York Mini 10K is an annual 10-kilometer road running competition for women that takes place in Central Park, New York City, in the United States. The race has been organised by New York Road Runners since 1972. The competition has both an elite-level race and a fun run, both of which accounted for a total of 5189 finishers in 2010. The idea of a 10K women's race was the joint vision of elite runners Nina Kuscsik and Kathrine Switzer, and New York City Marathon co-director Fred Lebow – in the early 1970s, there was a dearth of women's road racing competitions. Hilda Kibet (born 27 March 1981 in Keiyo District) is a Dutch runner of Kenyan birth. She is the sister of Sylvia Kibet and the niece of Lornah Kiplagat. She obtained Dutch nationality in October 2007. Kibet's longtime partner is Dutch marathon runner Hugo van den Broek. They split their time between Iten, Kenya and Castricum, in the Netherlands.
