Madame Vaudé-Green (née Marie Melina Grin) (3 June 1822 - 9 June 1902) was a French photographer who worked in Paris in the 1850s and 1860s, specialising in photographs of religious art. Early life Marie Melina Grin was born in Troyes, France on 3 June 1822, the daughter of Marie Rosalie Duparcq and Joseph Pierre Grin, a Postes, Télégraphes et Téléphones, postal inspector. In 1848, she married Louis Édouard Vaudé, a banker in Troyes. Following their marriage, the couple used the surname Vaudé-Grin or Vaudé-Grinn as well as Vaudé-Green. Photographic career In 1855, the press reported the arrival of a new photography studio in Paris, called ''Photographie catholique'', owned by "Monsier Vaudé-Green" and specialising in the "reproduction sur papier des chefs-d’œuvre de la peinture religieuse" (the paper reproduction of masterpieces of religious painting). Troyes () is a commune and the capital of the department of Aube in the Grand Est region of north-central France. It is located on the Seine river about south-east of Paris.
