Mad Mel
Mad Mel (born c.1945 as Mel Potts, later changed to Mel Happy) is a Canadian-born Australian former disc jockey. He was part of the Good Guys team at radio station 2SM in Sydney. Career In the early 1960s, Mel and his friend Rob McAdams started a local radio station (KITN) in Victoria, British Columbia. They bought air time from KONP in Port Angeles, Washington and broadcast via a telephone line from a local Victoria store from 4 pm to 8 pm on Monday to Friday, selling advertising to local merchants. In 1963 Sydney radio station 2SM was relaunched as a Top 40 station featuring Australia's first team of disc jockeys, known as "The Good Guys". Mel was recruited to present the 10 pm to midnight slot. He portrayed a zany character with alter-egos like "Granny Scoopshovel"; the opening soundtrack had him released from a cage to start the program. Sydney Harbour Bridge
The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a steel through arch bridge in Sydney, spanning Port Jackson, Sydney Harbour from the Sydney central business district, central business district (CBD) to the North Shore (Sydney), North Shore. The view of the bridge, the harbour, and the nearby Sydney Opera House is widely regarded as an iconic image of Sydney, and of Australia itself. Vic Davies
''Club Veg'' (initially called ''The Morning After Show'' on Triple J) was an Australian radio show created and presented by the comedic duo Vic Davies and Mal Lees (with writing contributions in the early years from Stephen Quinn). They started on Triple J (1984–86), followed by a stint on 2SM (1986-1988) and then their first run on Triple M Sydney (1988–1994) which saw them hosting nights then breakfast, before leaving the station and Sydney for Triple M Perth (1994–95). After a few years apart, they returned together to Triple M Sydney again in 1998 and remained there until 2002. A typical show featured "song parodies and comic sketches". The duo also released two albums, ''Members and Guests & Things'' (1988) and ''We Suck'' (2000). Each was nominated for an ARIA Award for Best Comedy Release in the relevant years. Tamam Shud
Tamam Shud is an Australian psychedelic, progressive and surf rock band, which formed in Newcastle in 1964. The initial line-up were known as The Four Strangers with Eric Connell on bass guitar, Dannie Davidson on drums, Gary Johns on rhythm guitar and Alex "Zac" Zytnik on lead guitar. At the end of that year Johns was replaced by Lindsay Bjerre on guitar and vocals as they trimmed their name to the Strangers. By late 1965 they had become the Sunsets. They took the name Tamam Shud in late 1967 after replacing Connell with Peter Barron on bass guitar. The group released two albums, ''Evolution'' (1969) – after which Tim Gaze replaced Zytnik on lead guitar – and ''Goolutionites and the Real People'' (1970) before disbanding in 1972.
