Mad Jack The Pirate
''Mad Jack the Pirate'' is an American animated comedy-adventure television series. The show was created by Bill Kopp and was directed by Jeff DeGrandis (who previously worked together on ''Toonsylvania''). On American television, the show was broadcast on Fox Kids. The show is about the rather unsuccessful and quite cowardly Pirate Jack (voiced by Bill Kopp), who despite his repeated failures never doubts his own excellence, and his dim-witted anthropomorphic rat sidekick Snuk (voiced by Billy West) as they sail the seas on their ship the Sea Chicken. Critics have noted that the clear inspiration for the show is the 1983-1989 BBC comedy series ''Blackadder''. Jack bears a striking resemblance to Edmund Blackadder and Snuk to Baldrick. There is even some dialogue taken straight from the BBC series. Jack's arch-enemy Flash resembles ''Blackadder's'' Lord Flashheart, and Angus is almost identical to ''Blackadder's'' Lord Angus. The series has been released on DVD in Romania (unde ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Baldrick
Baldrick is the name of several fictional characters featured in the long-running BBC historic comedy television series '' Blackadder''. Each one serves as Edmund Blackadder's servant and sidekick and acts as a foil to the lead character. Each series of ''Blackadder'' is set in a different period in British history, and each Baldrick character (as with the character of Edmund) is a descendant of the Baldrick from the preceding series. Just as Blackadder exists in many incarnations throughout the ages, so does Baldrick; whenever there is a Blackadder there is a Baldrick serving him. They are all portrayed by Sir Tony Robinson (although in the unaired pilot episode he was played by Philip Fox). The relationship between Edmund and Baldrick evolves significantly; in the first series of the show, Baldrick is more intelligent than Blackadder, but this dynamic is reversed in subsequent series, with Baldrick's intelligence decreasing as the show continued. He is the only character o ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
