Eoin Christopher Macken (born 21 February 1983) is an Irish actor, director, and model. Macken has modelled for Abercrombie and Fitch, Ralph Lauren, and GQ, and has appeared in films such as ''Resident Evil'', ''Close, Killing Jesus'', and ''Centurion''. He has appeared on television in series such as RTÉ's ''Fair City'' as Gavin Cluxton and in BBC series '' Merlin'' as Sir Gwaine. In 2021 Macken stars in the NBC drama '' La Brea''. Fidelma Macken
Fidelma Nora Macken SC (née O'Kelly; born 28 February 1942) is a retired Irish judge who served as a Judge of the Supreme Court from 2005 to 2012, a Judge of the High Court from 1998 to 1999 and between 2004 and 2005 and a Judge of the European Court of Justice from 1999 to 2004. In 2004, she succeeded John L. Murray, as Ireland's appointee on the European Court of Justice (ECJ) from 5 October 1999 to 22 September 2004. Appointed initially for a five-year term, she was the first female appointee to the European Court of Justice but had her mandate renewed in 2003. She was reappointed a Judge of the High Court on 18 October 2004 on her return to Ireland. She served a Judge of the Supreme Court from 2005 to 2012. Macken was educated at King's Inns and Trinity College Dublin. John Macken
John Macken (c.1784 – 7 May 1823Date of death 7 May 1823 according to Dictionary of National Biography, 7 June 1823 according to Library Ireland.) was an Irish poet, and joint editor of the ''Enniskillen Chronicle''. Life Macken, born about 1784, was the eldest son of Richard Macken, a merchant of Brookeborough in County Fermanagh. In Enniskillen he helped to establish the ''Enniskillen Chronicle'', also known as the ''Erne Packet'', first published on 10 August 1808. He was fellow-editor with his brother-in-law Edward Duffy, and Macken contributed both prose and verse. Jon Macken
Jonathan Paul Macken (born 7 September 1977) is a football manager and former professional player who played as a striker. He is currently manager of Witton Albion. He began his career with Premier League side Manchester United in 1995 but was released two years later after failing to make a first-team appearance. He joined Preston North End for £250,000 and managed to notch up 63 goals in 189 league matches until his departure to Manchester City in 2002. Macken eventually made his first Premier League appearance for City. He only managed to score seven goals in 51 appearances during his three years with City but notably scored against United in the Manchester derby in 2004. He signed for Crystal Palace in 2005 and while there, moved to Ipswich Town on loan. Peter Neville Macken (born 10 November 1938 in Sydney, Australia) is an Australian modern pentathlete and fencer who competed in five Olympic Games. He competed in the modern pentathlon at all five Olympics from 1960 to 1976 and in fencing at the 1968 Olympics. His best position was fourth at the 1964 Olympics Modern Pentathlon. Walter Macken (3 May 1915 – 22 April 1967) (Irish Uaitéar Ó Maicín), was born in Galway, Ireland. He was a writer of short stories, novels and plays. Biography Walter Macken was originally an actor, principally with the Taibhdhearc (where he met his wife, Peggy) in Galway, and The Abbey Theatre in Dublin. He also played lead roles on Broadway in M. J. Molloy's ''The King of Friday's Men'' and his own play ''Home Is the Hero''. The success of his third book, ''Rain on the Wind'' (winner of the Literary Guild award in the USA), enabled him to focus his energies on writing. He also acted in films, notably in Arthur Dreifuss' adaptation of Brendan Behan's ''The Quare Fellow''.
