Akira Machida
Akira Machida (町田 顯 ''Machida Akira'', October 16, 1936 – April 5, 2015) was Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Japan from 2002 to 2006. He was born in Shimonoseki, Japan. He first began his career in 1959, when he was appointed as a legal apprentice. In 1961 he was appointed as an assistant judge to the Tokyo District and its Family Court, the judge of the Muroran branch of the Sapporo District and its Family Court, and the judge of the Civil Affairs Bureau of the General Secretariat of the Supreme Court. In 1971 he was promoted to judge of the Sapporo District and its Family Court. In 1973 he became Chief of the Budget Division, Financial Affairs Bureau, and General Secretariat of the Supreme Court. He began serving as the Chief of the General Affairs Division in 1975, and although he quit being Chief of the Budget Division, he continued to perform in his other two positions until 1977, when he became Counseller of the Cabinet Legislative Bureau. Emi Machida
is a ''toji'', or master sake brewer in Japan. Machida is the first ''toji'' in her family, who have owned the Machida Brewery in Gunma for over 130 years. Machida is also an active member of the Women's Sake Industry Group. Machida's featured sake is the Junmai 60 Wakamizu (純米60 若水). Her other well-known brand is the Liao Sei. Her sakes have won seven gold medals at the Annual Japan Sake Awards. Machida Chūji
was a politician and cabinet minister in the pre-war Empire of Japan. Biography Machida was born in Akita as the fourth son to a samurai in the service of Kubota Domain. However, his father died when he was three years old. He was raised by his grandparents until adopted by an uncle in 1875, to whose estate he succeeded. He moved to Tokyo and studied at preparatory schools for Tokyo Imperial University, where one of his classmates was Ichiki Kitokurō. Although he passed his examinations, he had frequent health problems in Tokyo, including bouts of beri-beri and was forced to return to Akita. is a Japanese author, punk rock singer, poet, and actor. History Machida formed a punk rock band called Inu (meaning "dog" in Japanese) in 1978, for which he used the stage name Machida Machizō (). Inu released their first album, ''Meshi Kuuna!'' (literally "Don't eat!") in 1981. The band split shortly after the album release. He went on to form a number of bands and released several albums. His albums earned reasonable critical acclaims but the commercial success was limited. His first literary work, ''Kūge'', was published in 1992, and included a selection of his poems.
