Machete Music
Machete Music is an urban music label owned by Universal Music Group. The record label had been largely associated with reggaeton music, but in recent years, it has been also been signing non-reggaeton artists such as Malverde, Mala Rodriguez and Chino XL. The label is part of Universal Music Latin Entertainment. Machete Music is one of the most prevalent labels in the Reggaeton genre. According to Toy Selectah (also known as Toy Hernández, A&R of the label from 2004 to 2007), its president Gustavo López "suggested the name Machete, in part because of Control Machete, Hernández's former band". In 2010, the label launched its Machete Music Tour 2010 in celebration of the label's fifth anniversary. The label claims 80% of Latin Rhythm ''Billboard'' chart sales. In the five years between the label's establishment in 2005 and 2010, Machete has had 27 top ten albums on the ''Billboard'' Top Latin Albums chart with eleven of those being number one albums. Machete Music Tour 2010
The Machete Music World Tour 2010 was an international tour by artists of the Latin Urban music label Machete Music. Headlined by Ivy Queen, and Tego Calderón, the tour also features Chino & Nacho, Flex, Jowell & Randy, Don Omar, Cosculluela, Angel & Khriz, J-King & Maximan and R.K.M & Ken-Y. The tour launched with a sold-out concert at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York. Originally to feature more than 15 dates, the tour was cut short to five dates due to unknown circumstances. Of the seven initial concerts, dates for Florida and others in Texas were cut from the five final concerts. Dates for a 2011 leg were announced but never fulfilled. Christopher Lopez of the ''Miami New Times'' expected a Miami date to be announced, being that Miami would be a major market for it. Black Guayaba
Black Guayaba, often spelled Black:Guayaba, is a Grammy-winning Puerto Rican rock band that was formed in 2000. Band history Lo Demás Es Plástico Black Guayaba originally began playing at local pubs and other private activities before dedicating full time to prepare original material for their first album. Ñejo & Dalmata
Ñejo & Dálmata, also known as Ñejo y Dálmata, are a reggaeton duo from Ponce, Puerto Rico. Ñejo was born June 20, 1975 & Dálmata was born February 27, 1979. They had worked together in collaborations with other reggaeton artists before they released their duo album ''Broke & Famous'' in 2007 which peaked at 8 on the 'Billboard Latin Rhythms Albums Chart" and at 9 on the "Top Heatseekers (South Atlantic) Chart", as well as a number of their singles also charting on Billboard. Mach & Daddy
Mach and Daddy were a Panamanian reggaeton duo consisting of Pedro "Mach" Machore and Martin "Daddy" Machore. The first single for which they were recognized, "La Botella" ("''The Bottle''"), charted throughout Latin America and hit #1 on the ''Billboard'' chart. Other popular singles included "La Juma" and "El Que Se Fue Pa Barranquilla". The duo's concerts attracted as many as fifty thousand people. Makano
Hernán Enrique Jiménez Pino (born May 7, 1983), is a Panamanian singer better known by his stage name Makano. At the age of 12, Jiménez was part of a reggaeton group called "Los Makanos". The members of the group made a promise that the first of them to record a full album would carry on the group's name. Makano in Colombia means "strong like a tree". When he was 16, Jiménez was writing quality music, but his father discouraged him from music, saying he needed to get a real job. After several years of trying, an opportunity appeared and Jimenez appeared on the CD ''La Alianza'' in 2004. Jowell & Randy
Jowell & Randy are a Puerto Rican reggaeton duo composed of Joel Muñoz (born March 3, 1982) and Randy Ortiz (born July 16, 1983). The duo have been active since the early-2000s and have become one of the most popular acts in reggaeton. They have released three studio albums, five mixtapes and twenty-three singles as of June 2017. Jory (singer)
Nova & Jory were a reggaeton duo. Nova was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and Jory was born in Carolina, Puerto Rico. Martha Ivelisse Pesante Rodríguez (born March 4, 1972), known professionally as Ivy Queen, is a Puerto Rican singer, rapper, songwriter, and actress. Eduardo Mosquera (born March 15, 1985), better known by his stage name Eddy Lover, is a Panamanian reggaeton and Spanish reggae singer-songwriter.
