Maccabi Umm al-Fahm F.C. () are a football club, from the north Israeli city of Umm al-Fahm. The club currently plays in Liga Bet North B division, the fourth tier of Israeli football. Home matches are played at the HaShalom Stadium. History The club was founded in 1972, and played in the lower divisions of Israeli football. In the 2010–11 season the club won Liga Alef North division, and was promoted to Liga Leumit, the second tier of Israeli football, where they played three seasons. In the 2013–14 season, the club was relegated to Liga Alef after finished bottom of Liga Leumit, and set negative record of being the first club in the history of professional football in Israel, which have finished a season with a negative number of points (−4, after 5 points deducted), and without any win, drawing one game, and losing all the other 36 games. 2014–15 Liga Alef
The 2014–15 Liga Alef season saw Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem (champions of the North Division) and Hapoel Ashkelon (champions of the South Division) win the title and promotion to Liga Leumit. The clubs which were ranked between 2nd to 5th places in each division competed in a promotion play-offs, in which the winners, Ironi Nesher, advanced to the final round, where they lost 1-5 on aggregate to the 14th placed club in Liga Leumit, Hapoel Nazareth Illit. Thus, Ironi Nesher remained in Liga Alef. Liga Gimel ( he, ליגה ג', lit. ''League C'') is the fifth and bottom division of Israeli Football League, a position it has held since 2009. From Liga Alef and downwards to this, each league is separated by region as well. History Liga Gimel was first established in 1951 as a third division, below Liga Alef and Liga Bet. In 1955, after designating the first tier as Liga Leumit, Liga Gimel was demoted to the fourth tier. Liga Leumit ( he, ליגה לאומית, lit. ''National League'') is the second division of the Israeli Football League, and below its Premier League. Structure There are 16 clubs in the league. At the end of each season, the two lowest-placed teams are relegated to Liga Alef while the two highest-placed teams from Liga Alef are promoted in their place. Liga Alef ( he, ליגה א', , League A) is the third tier of the Israeli football league system. It is divided into two regional divisions, north and south. History League football began in Israel in 1949–50, a year after the Israeli Declaration of Independence. However, the financial and security crises gripping the young nation caused the 1950–51 season to be abandoned before it had started.
