Maccabi Kiryat Malakhi
Maccabi Ironi Kiryat Malakhi ( he, מכבי עירוני קרית מלאכי) is an Israeli football club based in Kiryat Malakhi. They are currently in Liga Bet South B division. History The club was founded in 1962, and played in most of their football seasons in Liga Gimel, the lowest tier of Israeli football. In the 1993–94 season, the club was promoted to Liga Bet for the first time in their history, after 33 years in Liga Gimel. However, their spell in Liga Bet lasted one season, and they were relegated back to Liga Gimel in the following season. In 1999, Hapoel Kiryat Malakhi, which have played in Liga Alef, dissolved after major financial problems, and Maccabi remained the only football club in Kiryat Malakhi. In the 2002–03 season, the club was promoted to Liga Bet for the second time, after they won their regional division of Liga Gimel with a perfect record of 20 wins, without any draw or lose, scoring 110 goals and conceding 11. Maccabi World Union is an international Jewish sports organisation spanning five continents (Africa, North America, South America, Australia, Europe) and more than 50 countries, with some 400,000 members. The Maccabi World Union organises the Maccabiah Games, a prominent international Jewish athletics event. 2010–11 Liga Alef
The 2010–11 Liga Alef season saw Maccabi Umm al-Fahm (champions of the North Division) and Hapoel Jerusalem (champions of the South Division) win the title and promotion to Liga Leumit. At the bottom, the bottom two clubs in each division, Maccabi Kafr Qara, Hapoel Ramot Menashe Megiddo (from North division), Hapoel Tzafririm Holon and Shimshon Bnei Tayibe (from South division) were all automatically relegated to Liga Bet, whilst the two clubs ranked in 14th place in each division, Ironi Sayid Umm al-Fahm and Hapoel Nahlat Yehuda entered a promotion/relegation play-offs, and both relegated to Liga Bet after losing the play-offs. The 2014–15 Liga Alef season saw Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem (champions of the North Division) and Hapoel Ashkelon (champions of the South Division) win the title and promotion to Liga Leumit. The clubs which were ranked between 2nd to 5th places in each division competed in a promotion play-offs, in which the winners, Ironi Nesher, advanced to the final round, where they lost 1-5 on aggregate to the 14th placed club in Liga Leumit, Hapoel Nazareth Illit. Hapoel ( he, הפועל, lit. ''the worker'') is an Israeli Jewish sports association established in 1926 by the Histadrut Labor Federation. History During the British Mandate of Palestine period Hapoel had a bitter rivalry with Maccabi and organized its own competitions, with the exception of football, the only sport in which all the organizations played each other. Kiryat Malakhi ( he, קִרְיַת מַלְאָכִי, also Qiryat Malakhi or Kiryat Malachi) is a city in the Southern District of Israel, from Ashkelon. In it had a population of . The Betar Movement ( he, תנועת בית"ר), also spelled Beitar (), is a Revisionist Zionist youth movement founded in 1923 in Riga, Latvia, by Vladimir (Ze'ev) Jabotinsky. The 2005–06 Liga Bet season saw Beitar Safed (champions of the North A division), Hapoel Ahva Haifa (champions of the North B division), Maccabi Amishav Petah Tikva (champions of the South A division) and Hapoel Maxim Lod (champions of the South B division) win their regional divisions and promoted to Liga Alef. The runners-up in each division entered a promotion/relegation play-offs with the clubs ranked 12th in Liga Alef. In the north section, Beitar Haifa (from North B division) won the play-offs and was promoted. In the south section, Ironi Ramla (from South B division) won the play-offs and was promoted.
