Maccabi Ironi Kfar Yona ( he, מכבי עירוני כפר יונה) is an Israeli football club based in Kfar Yona. The club is currently in Liga Bet South A division. History The club was founded in 1964 as Maccabi Kfar Yona and played mostly in the lower divisions of Israeli football. In the 2006–07 season the club won Liga Bet South A division and were promoted to Liga Alef. Maccabi Ironi Kfar Yona played six seasons in Liga Alef South division, until they were relegated back to Liga Bet after the last match of the 2012–13 season, following a defeat of 2–3 to Maccabi Kabilio Jaffa. History League football started in Israel in 1949–50, a year after the Israeli Declaration of Independence. The 2006–07 Liga Bet season saw Beitar Ihud Mashhad (champions of the North A division), Ironi Sayid Umm al-Fahm (champions of the North B division), Maccabi Ironi Kfar Yona (champions of the South A division) and Maccabi Ironi Netivot (champions of the South B division) winning the title and promotion to Liga Alef. The 2012–13 Liga Alef season saw Hapoel Afula (champions of the North Division) and Hapoel Katamon (champions of the South Division) win the title and promotion to Liga Leumit. Beitar Kfar Saba won the promotion play-offs and met Beitar Tel Aviv Ramla of Liga Leumit and lost 2–4 on aggregate and thus remained in Liga Alef. Hapoel ( he, הפועל, lit. ''the worker'') is an Israeli Jewish sports association established in 1926 by the Histadrut Labor Federation. History During the British Mandate of Palestine period Hapoel had a bitter rivalry with Maccabi and organized its own competitions, with the exception of football, the only sport in which all the organizations played each other. Overtime (sports)
Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament.
