Macauley Southam-Hales
Macauley Anthony Southam-Hales (born 2 February 1996) is a Welsh professional footballer who plays as a right back for club Stockport County. Career After playing for Cardiff City and Barry Town United, Southam-Hales signed for Fleetwood Town in January 2019. In January 2020 he moved on loan to Hartlepool United. After returning to Fleetwood following the loan spell, Southam-Hales was a late substitute in the League One play-off tie against Wycombe Wanderers. In September 2020, Southam-Hales signed for National League side Stockport County. In December 2022 he was injured during a FA Cup match; footage of the incident was used by the Football Association in a TikTok, for which they later apologised. He was given the all clear after going to hospital. The Professional Footballers Association called for changes to safety rules following the incident. Stockport is a town and Metropolitan Borough of Stockport, borough in Greater Manchester, England, south-east of Manchester, south-west of Ashton-under-Lyne and north of Macclesfield. The 2021–22 National League season, known as the Vanarama National League for sponsorship reasons, was the seventh season as English football's National League, the nineteenth season consisting of three divisions, and the forty-third season overall. Due to the curtailment of the preceding season for North and South and lower levels of competition in the English football pyramid, promotion and relegation between levels 5 and 6, and between level 6 and lower levels were suspended. FA Trophy
The Football Association Challenge Trophy, commonly known as the FA Trophy, is a men's football knockout cup competition run by and named after the English Football Association and competed for primarily by semi-professional teams. The competition was instigated in 1969 to cater to those non-league clubs that paid their players and were therefore not eligible to enter the FA Amateur Cup. Eligibility rules have changed over time, but from 2008 onwards the competition has been open to clubs playing in Steps 1–4 of the National League System, equivalent to tiers 5–8 of the overall English football league system.
