Macabre (album)
''Macabre'' is the second studio album by Japanese heavy metal band Dir En Grey. It was released on September 20, 2000. It was the band's first record to be released in collaboration of Free-Will's Firewall sub-division and Sony Music Entertainment Japan. The original print of ''Macabre'' featured an etched, tinted jewel case with five wooden beads placed within the spine. The album proper, like '' Gauze'', included two booklets: one with the lyrics, and the other featuring a related image and poem. Track listing Notes * The album features Russian imagery; the artwork contains Cyrillic; the lyrics for "Deity" are written in Russian; and the song title "Rasetsukoku" was the Chinese name for Russia during the Qing Dynasty. * "Deity" is similar to the Russian word for children, "deti" ("дети"). A-side And B-side
The A-side and B-side are the two sides of phonograph records and cassettes; these terms have often been printed on the labels of two-sided music recordings. The A-side usually features a recording that its artist, producer, or record company intends to be the initial focus of promotional efforts and radio airplay and hopefully become a hit record. The B-side (or "flip-side") is a secondary recording that typically receives less attention, although some B-sides have been as successful as, or more so than, their A-sides. Dozing Green
"Dozing Green" (stylized ''DOZING GREEN'') is a single by Dir En Grey, released on October 24, 2007 in Japan and across Europe as well as in the iTunes Store until the end of October. The Japanese edition includes two b-sides, "Hydra -666-" and "Agitated Screams of Maggots ive. The European release features only "Dozing Green" and "Agitated Screams of Maggots", while the iTunes release is sold as the title track only. The music video for "Dozing Green" shows cells from ''The Drifting Classroom'' by horror manga artist Kazuo Umezu. The music video of "Hydra -666-" can be found on ''In Weal or Woe''. "Dozing Green" is one of the two singles featured on ''Uroboros'', along with " Glass Skin". Like its counterpart, the song is re-recorded in English for the album. Kanji
are the logographic Chinese characters taken from the Chinese family of scripts, Chinese script and used in the writing of Japanese language, Japanese. They were made a major part of the Japanese writing system during the time of Old Japanese and are still used, along with the subsequently-derived syllabic scripts of ''hiragana'' and ''katakana''. Furigana
is a Japanese reading aid consisting of smaller kana or syllabic characters printed either above or next to kanji (logographic characters) or other characters to indicate their pronunciation. It is one type of ruby text. Furigana is also known as and in Japanese. A pupa ( la, pupa, "doll"; plural: ''pupae'') is the life stage of some insects undergoing transformation between immature and mature stages. Swallowtail Butterfly
Swallowtail butterflies are large, colorful butterflies in the family Papilionidae, and include over 550 species. Though the majority are tropical, members of the family inhabit every continent except Antarctica. The family includes the largest butterflies in the world, the birdwing butterflies of the genus '' Ornithoptera''. Swallowtails have a number of distinctive features; for example, the papilionid caterpillar bears a repugnatorial organ called the osmeterium on its prothorax. A syringe is a simple reciprocating pump consisting of a plunger (though in modern syringes, it is actually a piston) that fits tightly within a cylindrical tube called a barrel. The romanization of Japanese is the use of Latin script to write the Japanese language. This method of writing is sometimes referred to in Japanese as . The ''Hungarian Dances'' (german: Ungarische Tänze, links=no) by Johannes Brahms (WoO 1), are a set of 21 lively dance tunes based mostly on Hungarian themes, completed in 1879. They vary from about a minute to five minutes in length. They are among Brahms's most popular works and were the most profitable for him. Each dance has been arranged for a wide variety of instruments and ensembles. Brahms originally wrote the version for piano four hands (piano duet: two players using one piano) and later arranged the first ten dances for solo piano.
