Rainbow Country is a local services board in the Canadian province of Ontario. It encompasses and provides services to the communities of Whitefish Falls and Willisville in the Unorganized North Sudbury District and Birch Island and McGregor Bay in the Manitoulin District. It is the administrative headquarters of the Whitefish River Ojibway First Nations band government. Walden ( Canada 1996 Census population 10,292) was a town in the Canadian province of Ontario, which existed from 1973 to 2000. Created as part of the Regional Municipality of Sudbury when regional government was introduced, the town was dissolved when the city of Greater Sudbury was incorporated on January 1, 2001. Sudbury Secondary School is a high school in the downtown of Greater Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, well known for its Arts Education Program, featuring theatre arts, dance, vocal music, instrumental music, keyboard, media arts and visual art. Sudbury Secondary School produces a mainstage musical each year (usually in the fall), as well as various other plays, concerts, art exhibits, and dance shows throughout the year. Manitoulin Secondary School, is a secondary school located on M'Chigeeng First Nation, Ontario, on Manitoulin Island, and is approximately 2 hours from downtown Sudbury. The school, built in 1969, is within by the Rainbow District School Board's jurisdiction. History Research conducted over a 10-year period in the 1970s revealed a trend at Manitoulin Secondary School of directing First Nations students into the lower academic streams. The study also showed nearly all suspensions and expulsions were of First Nations students, despite them forming less than half of the student body. As a result, Wikwemikong removed their children from Rainbow District and formed their own high school in their community, resulting in a significant decline in the student population at Manitoulin Secondary School. Lockerby Composite School is a high school located in the Lockerby neighbourhood of Greater Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, a short distance from Science North and James Jerome (Lily Creek) Sports Complex. Lasalle Secondary School is located in the New Sudbury neighbourhood of Greater Sudbury, Ontario. It offers both the English and French Immersion programs. There are three different Specialist High Skills Majors (SHSMs) available to students at Lasalle: Energy, Business and Sports.
