Mabalacat, officially the City of Mabalacat ( pam, Lakanbalen ning Mabalacat; fil, Lungsod ng Mabalacat), is a 3rd class component city in the province of Pampanga, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 293,244 people. Etymology The town's name was derived from indigenous Negrito word ''mabalacat'' meaning "forest of balacats". Geography Mabalacat has a land area of . It is from Manila, from Angeles, and from the provincial capital, San Fernando. The soil is charcoal black and shiny, a sign of fertility, and is suitable for growing rice, sugarcane and other rootcrops. Nayong Pilipino Clark
The Nayong Pilipino Clark is a cultural park featuring themed areas of Filipino culture at the Clark Freeport Zone in Mabalacat, Pampanga. History The Nayong Pilipino Foundation (NPF) originally was maintained a cultural theme park in Pasay which was closed by then-President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo in July 2002 through Executive Order No. 11. The same decree mandated the NPF to look for an alternative site for a theme park to replace the Old Nayong Pilipino. The cultural theme park was inaugurated and opened as the Nayong Pilipino sa Clark Expo (NPCE) by Arroyo on December 22, 2007 at the site of the former Expo Pilipino within the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga. Internal Revenue Allotment
The Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) is a local government unit’s (LGU) share of revenues from the Philippine national government. Provinces, independent cities, component cities, municipalities, and barangays each get a separate allotment. The allotment is largely based upon the type of government they are and a formula based upon their land area and population. Section 284 of the Local Government Code of the Philippines (RA 7160) sets up the formula for the distribution of the allotment.
