''Maanagara Kaaval'' () is a 1991 Indian Tamil-language action-thriller film directed by M. Thiyagarajan. The film stars Vijayakanth and Suma. This is the 150th film of AVM Productions. The film was also one of the blockbusters of the year. The songs and background score composed by Chandrabose was also well received by the audience. Plot Ashok Metha, a senior politician, is enraged when a junior Roopavathi is made the Prime Minister of India. Though he pretends to accept his party's decision, he secretly plots to eliminate her. Meanwhile, a high-profile officer is killed in Delhi by a professional killer, Robin and Vidya witnesses the murder. Vidya arrives in Chennai for a dance event and falls in love with Subash, an honest IPS officer who is mourning the loss of his beloved sister. Ponnambalam (actor)
Ponnambalam (born 11 November 1963) is an Indian actor and stuntman who has predominantly appeared in Tamil language films. He is best known for playing antagonistic roles in Indian films during the 1990s, notably appearing in films such as ''Nattamai'' (1994), '' Muthu'' (1995) and ''Amarkalam'' (1999). Later in his career, Ponnambalam also appeared in a few leading roles, while also taking up the mantle of director and producer. Career Ponnambalam made his debut in cinema as a stuntman, and often appeared as an extra fighter in films, starring in minor roles in films including '' Apoorva Sagodharargal'' (1989) and ''Michael Madana Kama Rajan'' (1990).
