Maadathy
''Maadathy'', also known internationally as ''Maadathy: An Unfairy Tale'', is a 2019 Indian-Tamil language folklore drama film written, directed and produced by Leena Manimekalai under the banner of Karuvachy films and co-produced by Piiyush Singh (Golden Ratio Films), Bhavana Goparaju, and Abinandhan Ramanujam. The film stars Ajmina Kassim, Patrick Raj, Semmalar Annam and Arul Kumar in the lead roles. The film was premiered at Busan International Film Festival 2019 and received a positive critical response. The film later got released in the OTT platform Neestream globally on  24, June 2021. Plot The film is set in the backdrop of a river which acts as a symbol of the oppressor and the oppressed. Leena Manimekalai
Leena Manimekalai is an Indian filmmaker, poet and an actor. Her works include five published poetry anthologies and a dozen films in genres, documentary, fiction and experimental poem films. She has been recognised with participation, mentions and best film awards in many international and national film festivals. Films and activism After a brief period as an assistant director with mainstream filmmakers and an intensive experience as a Television Producer and Anchor, she debuted in 2002 with the short documentary film ''Mathamma''. The 20-minute-long docu-fiction is about devoting girl children to the deity, a practice prevalent among the Arundhatiyar community in Mangattucheri village near Arakkonam, Chennai. Abinandhan Ramanujam
''Abinandhan Ramanujam'' is an Indian cinematographer who hails from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He is working in Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi films. Early life Abinandhan Ramanujam was born in Chennai. He was graduated from L.V. Prasad Film and TV Academy and is a gold medalist from there. He later did a course in visual communication from Dr G R Damodaran College of Science, Coimbatore . The Busan International Film Festival (BIFF, previously Pusan International Film Festival, PIFF), held annually in Haeundae-gu, Busan (''also'' Pusan), South Korea, is one of the most significant film festivals in Asia. The first festival, held from 13 to 21 September 1996, was also the first international film festival in Korea. ''Cinema Express'' was an Indian Tamil-language entertainment fortnightly magazine published from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It was a part of The New Indian Express Group, which also publishes ''Samakalika Malayalam Vaarika'' weekly as well as '' Dinamani'' and ''Kannada Prabha'' newspapers. The ''Cinema Express'' brand is now used for the film industry coverage of ''The New Indian Express'' regardless of language. The Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) is an annual film festival held in Kolkata, India. Founded in 1995, it is the third oldest international film festival in India.
