M A Khaleq
M A Khaleq (1921-2008) was a judge and adviser, with the rank of minister, of Shahabuddin Ahmed caretaker government. Early life Khaleq was born in 1921 in Sonarai, Domar Upazila, Nilphamari District, East Bengal, British India. He graduated from Carmichael College in Rangpur. He completed his masters and law degree from University of Calcutta. Career In 1947, Khaleq joined the judicial branch of the East Pakistan Civil Service. From 1956 to 1966, he was served as the Secretary of East Pakistan Assembly. He then served as Sessions and District Judge. He retired from judicial service 1983. He worked at the Administrative Appellate Tribunal. He was commissioner of the Journalists' Wage Board Commission. He was a member of the Dhaka Shishu Hospital trustee board. He was an advisor in charge of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs in the Shahabuddin Ahmed Cabinet. Death Khaleq died on 4 January 2008. Carmichael College is an educational institution in Rangpur, Bangladesh. It was established on 10 November 1916 and was named after Thomas David Baron Carmichael of Skirling. The college is situated in Lalbag, to the south from zero point of the Rangpur town. Having an area of 900 bighas (298 acres), it is the largest college of Bangladesh. History To create higher education opportunity in Rangpur region, the then local landlords (zamindars), including Abdul Aziz Choudhury, Gopal Lal Roy Bahadur, Mohimaranjan Roy, and Babu Monidra Chandra Roy, took initiative to set up a college. Dhaka Shishu (Children) Hospital is a children's hospital in Bangladesh, located in the capital city of Dhaka. History The hospital was established in 1972, immediately following independence. It was funded by the late Professor Tofayel Ahmed, the Bangladesh Government, Save the Children Fund of the UK and World Vision of Bangladesh. The hospital publishes the ''Dhaka Shishu (Children) Hospital Journal''. Funding and resources The hospital is administered by a management board appointed by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The Ministry provides 50% of total annual funding, and the remainder is funded by payment for services, individual donations and grants. Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali ( bn, আবুল হাসান মাহমুদ আলী; born 2 June 1943) is a Bangladeshi politician and diplomat who served as parliamentarian and cabinet minister including the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh from 2013 to 2019. He previously served as Minister of Disaster Management and Relief from 2012 to 2013.
