Background Origin (1996–2002) Jacques "Chin" Alcantara founded the band in 1996 as an amateur rock band. The band transitioned to pop music when they had a female vocalist, Nina in 2000. When she left for a solo career a year later, Juris from Davao took her place. Juris Fernandez
Julie Iris Fernandez-Lim (née Julie Iris Valles Fernandez; March 18, 1978), also known by her stage name "Juris", is a Filipino singer and songwriter. From 2001 to 2009, she was the lead singer of acoustic group MYMP. In late 2009, she left MYMP due to "irreconcilable differences" and signed with Star Music as a solo artist. Her solo debut album, '' Now Playing'' was released in February 2010. Biography Fernandez was born on March 18, 1978 in Davao City, Philippines. She is the daughter of an engineer father, and an obstetrician-gynecologist mother. Her older sister is also an obstetrician-gynecologist. She went to high school at the Ateneo de Davao University. Ivory Music and Video, Inc. (formerly Ivory Records Corporation) is a record label based in the Philippines. The Awit Awards are music awards in the Philippines given annually by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI) to recognize the outstanding achievements in the music industry. The word "Awit" means "song" literally in Filipino. The first awards were given in 1969 at a ceremony in Makati. After three awards ceremonies were held, the Awit Awards were discontinued in 1972.
