''Maná MTV Unplugged'' is a live album by Mexican rock band Maná. It was an acoustic set performed for ''MTV Unplugged'' in Miami on March 9, 1999, and released on CD and DVD on June 22, 1999. It includes exclusive re-make versions of the José Alfredo Jiménez song "Te Solte La Rienda", the Rubén Blades song "Desapariciones", and "Se Me Olvidó Otra Vez" by Juan Gabriel. As of 2000, it sold 2 millions of copies. It received a nomination for a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. Maná
Maná () is a Mexican pop rock band formed in 1981. Originally called Sombrero Verde, the current lineup of members is vocalist-guitarist Fher Olvera, drummer Alex González (musician), Alex González, guitarist Sergio Vallín and bassist Juan Calleros. The band is considered one of the best-selling Latin Mexican music artists and the most successful Latin American band of all time with over 45 million records sold worldwide. "En el muelle de San Blas" (English: "At the pier of San Blas, Nayarit, San Blas") is the fourth radio single (music), single and eighth track off of Maná's fifth studio album, ''Sueños Líquidos'' (1997). In the week of May 23, 1998, the song debuted and reached number eighteen on the Hot Latin Songs, U.S. Billboard Hot Latin Tracks. It stayed for a total of six weeks. The song was inspired by Rebeca Méndez Jiménez, a woman in Nayarit, Mexico. In 1971 she said goodbye to her fiancé Manuel, a foreign fisherman she was set to marry four days later. The Maid of the Mist is a sightseeing boat tour of Niagara Falls, N.Y., U.S.A., starting and ending on the American side, crossing briefly into Canada during a portion of the trip. James V.
