MTV (French TV Channel)
MTV France is a French pay-television channel operated by Paramount Networks EMEAA. It was launched as MTV Networks Europe began to further localise its brand throughout Europe. MTV France (previously MTVF) was launched on 20 June 2000. It is also distributed in Switzerland (Romandie), Monaco and Francophone Africa. 1080i
1080i (also known as Full HD or BT.709) is a combination of frame resolution and scan type. 1080i is used in high-definition television (HDTV) and high-definition video. The number "1080" refers to the number of horizontal lines on the screen. The "i" is an abbreviation for "interlaced"; this indicates that only the even lines, then the odd lines of each frame (each image called a video field) are drawn alternately, so that only half the number of actual image frames are used to produce video. A related display resolution is 1080p, which also has 1080 lines of resolution; the "p" refers to progressive scan, which indicates that the lines of resolution for each frame are "drawn" on the screen in sequence. The term assumes a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9 (a rectangular TV that is wider than it is tall), so the 1080 lines of vertical resolution implies 1920 columns of horizontal resolution, or 1920 pixels × 1080 lines. VH1 Europe
VH1 (referred as VH1 Europe) was a European music television channel owned by ViacomCBS Networks EMEAA. It played a wide variety of music programs on a daily or weekly basis, and various VH1 original series. The channel focused on current music, as well as music from the 2000s and the 2010s. In the 2000s, the channel used to focus on then current music – with a heavier focus on so-called adult contemporary pop and pop rock than today, – as well as music from the 1980s and the 1990s. From 2020 until the closure, the channel also played some Hip Hop hits, from artists like Roddy Ricch and DaBaby. On 2 August 2021, the channel was replaced by MTV 00s. On 1 August - the 40th anniversary of MTV - the channel's programming was adapted to MTV 00s, where as the next day the logo and graphics were updated to MTV 00s. MTV Hits (Europe)
MTV Hits is a 24-hour pop music television channel from Paramount Networks EMEAA launched on 27 May 2014. The channel is widely available throughout Europe, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. History *On 1 October 2017, MTV Hits, MTV Dance and MTV Rocks ceased broadcasting in Benelux. *A localized version of MTV Hits replaced MTV Brand New in Germany on 6 January 2021 and in the Netherlands on 1 February 2021. This version shares the same schedule as the main channel, albeit one hour ahead. The standard MTV Hits channel is also available in Germany from local ISPs. *On 1 June 2021, the channel replaced MTV Music 24 in South Africa. MTV Rocks (European TV Channel)
MTV Rocks Europe was a European pay television music channel from Viacom International Media Networks Europe that was launched on 27 May 2014, replacing the British version of MTV Rocks in Europe. History On 17 November 2015, MTV Rocks Europe was removed from CanalSat. On 1 October 2017, the European versions of MTV Rocks, MTV Dance and MTV Hits ceased broadcasting in Benelux. On 4 October 2018, the channel was removed from Numericable along with MTV Dance Europe following the launch of Comedy Central France. In 2019, the channel disappeared in Portugal. On 2 May 2020, it was removed from Sky Italia. The channel closed along with VH1 Classic Europe in October 2020 and was replaced by MTV 90s, after its British equivalent had closed three months earlier. MTV Idol was a French television channel launched on November 30, 2005 owned by Viacom specializing in music and reality-shows, plus covering of news of artists of this era that have influenced French and French-speaking generations. It stopped broadcasting on 17 November 2015. MTV Idol was founded in 2005 to serve French territories and was a retro channel and featured rerun of very popular cult broadcasting and programming of the MTV era including those of ''MTV Unplugged'' and reruns of popular series notably ''Beavis and Butt-Head''. MTV Pulse was a musical pop/rock television channel owned by MTV Networks France, launched in November 2005 only for France, dedicated to young adult (15–35 years) audience. MTV Pulse broadcast pop and rock music videos (also metal, punk, soul, alternative rock, etc.), live performances, interviews and special programs entirely dedicated to this musical universe. The clips were broadcast in a more commercial format and from the currents of alternative music. From April 9, 2013, the channel was available in HD. MTV Global (formerly as MTV Europe) is the international version of the American TV channel MTV, a 24-hour music and entertainment TV channel that began broadcasting on August 1, 1987, as part of the worldwide MTV network. Initially, MTV served all regions of Europe, being one of the few TV channels focused on the entire European market.
