MS Norcape
MS ''Norcape'' was a ro-ro freight vessel built for the British ferry company P&O Ferries. She was built in 1979 by Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding, Japan as ''Puma''. Later that year, she was renamed ''Tipperary'' and began service with B&I Line, operating between Liverpool and Dublin. After 10 years she was transferred to P&O North Sea Ferries and renamed as ''Norcape''. She was laid up in Liverpool in 2010 before going to refit and transferring to the Larne Troon route. Roll-on/roll-off (RORO or ro-ro) ships are cargo ships designed to carry wheeled cargo, such as cars, motorcycles, trucks, semi-trailer trucks, buses, trailers, and railroad cars, that are driven on and off the ship on their own wheels or using a platform vehicle, such as a self-propelled modular transporter. B&I Line
The British and Irish Steam Packet Company Limited was a steam packet and passenger ferry company operating between ports in Ireland and in Great Britain between 1836 and 1992. It was latterly popularly called the B&I, and branded as B&I Line. The company took over the business of the City of Dublin Steam Packet Company. Aliağa is a town and a district of Izmir Province in the Aegean Region of Turkey. The town is situated at about north of Izmir. Aliağa has a large port, mainly for oil and bulk cargo.
