MLW World Junior Heavyweight Championship
The MLW World Junior Heavyweight Championship was a professional wrestling Championship (professional wrestling)#Weight class championships, junior heavyweight Championship (professional wrestling), championship owned by the Major League Wrestling (MLW) Professional wrestling promotion, promotion. Only wrestlers under the junior heavyweight weight-limit may hold the championship. The weight-limit for the tag team title is 205 lb (93 kg); it is assumed that this title has the same weight-limit. It was proposed as part of a tournament called the ''J-Cup USA'' and Sonjay Dutt won the tournament and also was the last champion. Only one reign was crowned over its one-year existence. Major League Wrestling (MLW), is an American professional wrestling promotion based in New Rochelle, New York. The promotion was founded in 2002 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by former WWE writer Court Bauer. The promotion markets its product as "Hybrid Wrestling", with its roster featuring a mix of different styles. The promotion originally ran live events between 2002 and 2004, with these events seen on the television series, ''MLW Underground TV''. MLW returned to promoting events in July 2017, with a new weekly television show named ''MLW Fusion'' premiering in April 2018. MLW Underground TV
''MLW Underground TV'' is a professional wrestling television series that was produced by Major League Wrestling (MLW) from 2003 to 2004. The series was hosted by former Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) commentator Joey Styles. Reruns of the series began airing in the Summer of 2020 on BeIN Sports USA. The ''Underground'' name was revived for the weekly series titled ''MLW Underground Wrestling'', that premiered on February 7, 2023. History ''Underground TV'' episodes consisted of pre-taped matches from prior MLW events. In late 2003, MLW released episodes of ''Underground TV'' on DVD. Unlike the on-air broadcast, the DVDs contain full-length matches from the television tapings. It also contained backstage interviews from before and after the event. Retesh Bhalla (born April 7, 1982) is an American professional wrestler currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) as a producer and manager. He is best known for his time with Total Nonstop ActionImpact Wrestling under the ring name Sonjay Dutt. He also worked for WWE as a producer from 2019 to 2021. Dutt is known for his several stints in Jeff Jarrett's promotion Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), later renamed Impact Wrestling, where he started in 2003. James Carson Yun (born May 13, 1981) is an American professional wrestler and actor of Korean and German descent.
