Liquid Sex Decay was an electro-industrial band based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The duo was created by keyboardist David York (as D. York) and guitarist Scott Morgan (as Sid), who were formerly in the band Apparatus. They debuted with their only full-length studio album Liquid Sex Decay in 1997 before disbanding. History Liquid Sex Decay was formed by musicians Scott Morgan and David York from the band Apparatus, which dissolved in 1995. The band issued their self-titled debut album in 1997 on MJ-12 Records and critics considered the album a direct follow-up to 1995's ''Apparatus''. The duo wanted to continue experimenting fusing ambient, techno, industrial and electronic music while moving away from a guitar dominated sound. Angelo Daniel Badalamenti (March 22, 1937 – December 11, 2022) was an American composer, best known for his work scoring films for director David Lynch, notably '' Blue Velvet'', the ''Twin Peaks'' saga (1990–1992, 2017), ''The Straight Story'', and ''Mulholland Drive''. Badalamenti received the 1990 Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance for his "''Twin Peaks'' Theme". Badalamenti also received a "Lifetime Achievement Award" from the World Soundtrack Awards's Academy in 2008, and the "Henry Mancini Award" from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers in 2011. ''SF Weekly'' was a free alternative weekly newspaper founded in the 1970s in San Francisco, California. It was distributed every Thursday, and was published by the San Francisco Print Media Company. The paper has won national journalism awards, and sponsored the SF Weekly Music Awards. Re-Constriction Records was a division of Cargo Music based in California. The label was founded in 1992 and headed by Chase, who was previously the Music Director at KCR, a student radio station on the campus of San Diego State University. They specialized in releasing bands belonging to the industrial, aggrotech and EBM genres. After the label folded, Chase went to work for Access Communications where he worked for 14 years doing video game-related public relations, including helping to launch Twitch in 2011. In May 2013, he took a staff job at Twitch overseeing all of their PR efforts. In 2019, he left Twitch and shortly thereafter joined StreamElements. The ''Schwann Catalog'' (previously ''Schwann Long Playing Record Catalog'' or later ''Schwann Record And Tape Guide'') was a catalog of recordings started by William Schwann in 1949. The first edition was hand-typed and 26 pages long, and it listed 674 long-playing records (see LP record). By the late 1970s, over 150,000 record albums had been listed in Schwann. The company was honored by the record industry both at the 25th anniversary (1974) and 35th anniversary (1984). ''Apparatus'' is the eponymously titled and only album by Apparatus, released on August 1, 1995, by Re-Constriction Records. Promotional music videos were filmed for the songs " Come Alive" and " Hell's Home". After the album's publication the trio disbanded, with keyboardist David York and guitarist Scott Morgan forming the band Liquid Sex Decay later.
