MDK
''MDK'' is a 1997 third-person shooter video game developed by Shiny Entertainment for Microsoft Windows. It was ported to Mac OS by Shokwave, and to the PlayStation by Neversoft. It was published on all systems by PIE in North America, with Shiny Entertainment publishing it themselves in Europe. The Windows version was released in May 1997, and the PlayStation version in November. The game was released on GOG.com in September 2008, and on Steam in September 2009. The game tells the story of Kurt Hectic, a janitor who reluctantly must attempt to save Earth from an alien invasion of gigantic strip mining city-sized vehicles named "Minecrawlers". These are removing all of Earth's natural resources, crushing any people and cities that get in their way. Nicholas Anthony Bruty (born 1969), known as Nick Bruty, is a British video game designer and entrepreneur, known for work on video games such as ''Earthworm Jim'', ''Earthworm Jim 2'', and ''MDK''. Biography Early career Bruty was born in 1969, in Longfield, Kent, and was raised and educated in Livingston, Scotland. He made his first step into video games when he was 15, working for company SoftStone with his friend David Quinn, completing some projects before SoftStone went bust in 1984. Neversoft Entertainment, Inc. was an American video game developer based in Woodland Hills, California. The studio was founded by Joel Jewett, Mick West and Chris Ward in July 1994 and was acquired by Activision in October 1999. Tommy Tallarico (born Thomas Andrew Tallarico; February 18, 1968) is an American video game music composer, musician, sound designer, television personality, live show creative director and producer. He and his company, Tommy Tallarico Studios, worked on several video games since the 1990s. He co-hosted the television shows ''Electric Playground'' and ''Reviews on the Run'' from 1997 until 2006. David Perry (born 4 April 1967) is a Northern Irish video game developer and programmer. He became prominent for programming platform games for 16-bit home consoles in the early to mid 1990s, including ''Disney's Aladdin'', ''Cool Spot'', and ''Earthworm Jim''.
