Microsoft SQL Server
Microsoft SQL Server is a relational database management system developed by Microsoft. As a database server, it is a software product with the primary function of storing and retrieving data as requested by other software applications—which may run either on the same computer or on another computer across a network (including the Internet). Microsoft markets at least a dozen different editions of Microsoft SQL Server, aimed at different audiences and for workloads ranging from small single-machine applications to large Internet-facing applications with many concurrent users. History The history of Microsoft SQL Server begins with the first Microsoft SQL Server product—SQL Server 1.0, a 16-bit server for the OS/2 operating system in 1989—and extends to the current day. Its name is entirely descriptive, it being ''server'' software that responds to queries in the '' SQL'' language. Milestones * MS SQL Server for OS/2 began as a project to port Sybase SQL Server onto O ...

Maraland Democratic Front
Maraland Democratic Front was a regional political party in the Indian state of Mizoram. The party was active amongst the Mara people in the southern part of the state. The party had run the Mara Autonomous District Council (one of three autonomous districts in Mizoram) together with Indian National Congress in the previous term. Electoral history In the 2003 Mizoram Legislative Assembly election, the MDF put up candidates in two constituencies (out of 40 in total in the state). The party president and founder, P. P. Thawla was able to get elected from Tuipang. P.P. Thawla participated in the Mizo National Front, MNF-led state government, and was minister for Excise and Soil & Water conservation but later resigned because of a decrease in the number of cabinet ministers. In the 2008 Mizoram Legislative Assembly election, P.P. Thawla won the Palak (Legislative Assembly constituency), Palak seat with 4206 votes (33.37%). He was again the only representative of his party in the Miz ...

Maryland Deathfest
Maryland Deathfest (often abbreviated to MDF) is an annual American extreme metal festival founded in 2003 by Ryan Taylor and Evan Harting. The festival is held in Baltimore, Maryland during Memorial Day weekend, and it features many bands from around the world that vary from a wide range of Heavy metal genres, heavy metal subgenres. It is the biggest event of its kind in North America, attracting attendees from more than 40 U.S. states and 25 countries every year. More than 700 bands from more than 35 countries have played at MDF since 2003. The concept of the event is "To bring to the world the best and most extreme bands the underground has to offer. Never conforming to trends, or being limited by genre restrictions, we want to showcase what extreme music, both new and old, is capable of." Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, COVID-19 pandemic, MDF was cancelled in 2020 and 2021, but returned on May 26-29, 2022. Shortly before the 2022 festival, the organizers ...

Market Development Funds
Market development funds or MDF are used in an indirect sales channel where funds are made available by a manufacturer or brand to help affiliates, channel partners, resellers, VARs, or distributors, etc. sell its products and create local awareness about the national brand. Co-op Funds is a synonym for Market Development Funds. There are approximately 4,500 Co-op programs in the US made up of 50 product classifications on which some 50 billion dollars is spent each year. Slightly over half of that 50 billion dollars offered to partners each year by Brands goes unused because of uninformed partners implementation issues. Developing an MDF Strategy While developing the MDF strategy, clarity of objective is critical for the MDF program designer. Generally, as a best practice, program designers should ask the following questions while defining the program: * Why - Why are we deploying these MDF funds? * Who - Who will these MDF funded promotions target? * When - What should be the ...

Multidelay Block Frequency Domain Adaptive Filter
The multidelay block frequency domain adaptive filter (MDF) algorithm is a block-based frequency domain implementation of the (normalised) Least mean squares filter (LMS) algorithm. Introduction The MDF algorithm is based on the fact that convolutions may be efficiently computed in the frequency domain (thanks to the fast Fourier transform). However, the algorithm differs from the fast LMS algorithm in that block size it uses may be smaller than the filter length. If both are equal, then MDF reduces to the FLMS algorithm. The advantages of MDF over the (N)LMS algorithm are: * Lower algorithmic complexity * Partial de-correlation of the input (which 'may' lead to faster convergence) Variable definitions Let N be the length of the processing blocks, K be the number of blocks and \mathbf denote the 2Nx2N Fourier transform matrix. The variables are defined as: : \underline(\ell) = \mathbf\left \mathbf_, e(\ell N),\dots,e(\ell N-N-1) \rightT : \underline_k(\ell) = \mathrm \left\ ...

Main Distribution Frame
In telephony, a main distribution frame (MDF or main frame) is a signal distribution frame for connecting equipment (inside plant) to cables and subscriber carrier equipment (outside plant). Overview The MDF is a termination point within the local telephone exchange where exchange equipment and terminations of local loops are connected by jumper wires at the MDF. All cable copper pairs supplying services through user telephone lines are terminated at the MDF and distributed through the MDF to equipment within the local exchange e.g. repeaters and DSLAM. Cables to intermediate distribution frames (IDF) terminate at the MDF. Trunk cables may terminate on the same MDF or on a separate trunk main distribution frame (TMDF). Like other distribution frames the MDF provides flexibility in assigning facilities, at lower cost and higher capacity than a patch panel. The most common kind of large MDF is a long steel rack accessible from both sides. On one side, termination blocks are ...

Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation
The Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation (MDF) is a patient organization focused solely on myotonic dystrophy (DM). Based in the Preservation Park of Oakland, California, MDF was founded by families living with myotonic dystrophy. It is an American 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. History MDF evolved during the International Myotonic Dystrophy Consortium (IDMC-5) in October 2005 to create a national advocacy organization for people living with myotonic dystrophy. In September 2019, the organization rebranded to ''Myotonic'' with the hope of garnering more attention for the rare disease A rare disease is any disease that affects a small percentage of the population. In some parts of the world, an orphan disease is a rare disease whose rarity means there is a lack of a market large enough to gain support and resources for discove .... However, in 2021, the organization reverted its name back to the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation citing a strong community preference for the origina ...

Maryland Defense Force
The Maryland Defense Force (MDDF) is the state defense force for the state of Maryland. The MDDF is organized as a volunteer military organization organized parallel to the Maryland National Guard and is designed to augment the National Guard during stateside emergencies. However, as a state defense force, the MDDF is solely under control of the State of Maryland and cannot be federalized or deployed outside the borders of Maryland. History The history of the MDDF dates back to colonial days in the 17th century, but it was formally established in 1917 with the mission "to protect public buildings, water supplies, and other properties". It was called the Maryland State Guard. It was disbanded in 1920 to make room for the National Guard to return to duties in the armories. The Maryland State Guard was reactivated in 1939 in response to World War II. It was then deactivated in 1947. As of 1983, the Maryland State Guard was reactivated and renamed the Maryland Defense Force. In 1994, th ...

Hungarian Democratic Forum
The Hungarian Democratic Forum ( hu, Magyar Demokrata Fórum, MDF) was a centre-right political party in Hungary. It had a Hungarian nationalist, national-conservative, Christian-democratic ideology. The party was represented continuously in the National Assembly from the restoration of democracy in 1990 until 2010. It was dissolved on 8 April 2011. The MDF was the largest party on Hungary's emergence as a democratic country under the leadership of József Antall, Prime Minister between 1990 and 1993. Since then, its representation receded, with the party playing the role of junior coalition partner to Fidesz from 1998 to 2002, and in opposition otherwise. It was a member of the Centrist Democrat International and was a member of the European People's Party until 2009, when it joined the Alliance of European Conservatives and Reformists. Manufacturing Execution System
Manufacturing execution systems (MES) are computerized systems used in manufacturing to track and document the transformation of raw materials to finished goods. MES provides information that helps manufacturing decision-makers understand how current conditions on the plant floor can be optimized to improve production output. MES works as real-time monitoring system to enable the control of multiple elements of the production process (e.g. inputs, personnel, machines and support services). MES may operate across multiple function areas, for example management of product definitions across the product life-cycle, resource scheduling, order execution and dispatch, production analysis and downtime management for overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), product quality, or materials track and trace. MES creates the "as-built" record, capturing the data, processes and outcomes of the manufacturing process. This can be especially important in regulated industries, such as food and bever ...
