Messier 93 or M93, also known as NGC 2447, is an open cluster in the modestly southern constellation Puppis, the imagined poop deck of the legendary ''Argo''. Observational history and appearance It was discovered by Charles Messier then added to his catalogue of comet-like objects in 1781. Caroline Herschel, the younger sister of William Herschel, independently discovered it in 1783, thinking it had not yet been catalogued by Messier. Walter Scott Houston (died 1993) described its appearance: Some observers mention the cluster as having the shape of a starfish. With a fair-sized telescope, this is its appearance on a dull night, but four-inch refractorshows it as a typical star-studded galactic cluster. Overview The rifle was designed in 1993 and entered production in 1998. The primary purpose of this rifle is long-range engagement and due to that, it is provided with an optical sight, which is included in the rifle set (8x magnification with the division up to 1,800 m) and a backup iron sight. The TPz Fuchs from Transportpanzer Fuchs is a German armoured personnel carrier originally developed by Daimler-Benz but manufactured and further developed by the now Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV). Fuchs was the second wheeled armoured vehicle to enter service with the Bundeswehr (West German Military) and it can be used for tasks including troop transport, engineer transport, bomb disposal, Nuclear, Biological and Chemical reconnaissance and electronic warfare. RMMV and its predecessors manufactured 1,236 Fuchs 1, mostly for the German Army. Further development of the design resulted in the Fuchs 2, first shown in 2001. M-93 (Michigan Highway)
M-93 is the designation of a state trunkline highway in the Lower Peninsula of the US state of Michigan. It links both Camp Grayling and Hartwick Pines State Park with Interstate 75 (I-75). Both termini of M-93 end at locations, rather than junctions with another road. The western end of M-93 ends in a traffic circle before it turns into Howe Road as it travels through Camp Grayling. The highway dates back to 1919 as a connection with the predecessor to Camp Grayling. Since that time, it has been extended through Grayling along first US Highway 27 (US 27) and now Business Loop I-75 (BL 75) to connect with the state park. Route description M-93 starts at the main gate of Camp Grayling. From there it runs north and east along Sharon Road parallel to the shore of Lake Margarethe through the edge of the base complex. The M93 Hornet mine is an American anti-tank mine, it is a wide-area mine, capable of attacking targets up to 100 meters away from its position. Development A development contract was awarded to Honeywell Defense Systems and Textron Inc. in August 1987. In April 1990, Textron was given the contract to complete development of the system. Description The M93 uses both seismic and acoustic sensors to track and identify potential targets near the mine. Once the mine detects a suitable target in range, the mine turns to face the target and elevates the submunition launcher to the correct angle. The submunition is then fired in the direction of the target using a gas generator. An infra-red sensor on the submunition scans the ground as it travels, searching for the target. The Mannlicher M1893 (or M93) is a bolt-action rifle that was the standard service rifle of the Kingdom of Romania from 1893 to 1938. The rifle and its 1892 predecessor were the first repeating rifles to be widely issued in the Romanian military. It was later replaced by the Czechoslovak-designed Vz. 24 as the standard service rifle. The Salvator-Dormus M1893 also known as Skoda M1893 was a heavy machine gun of Austro-Hungarian origin. It was patented by Archduke Karl Salvator of Austria and Count George von Dormus and was manufactured by Skoda Works Plzeň. The Salvator-Dormus was chambered in the 8x50mmR round fed from an overhead magazine and was water-cooled with an oil lubrication device. There was also a pendulum adjustment in the trigger mechanism that allowed the operator to select the cyclic rate of fire, anywhere from 180 to 250 rounds per minute. The M1893 was cheaper than the Maxim gun but was gradually replaced by the Schwarzlose MG M.07/12.
