The M43 is a major metropolitan road in Greater Johannesburg, South Africa which begins in Vosloorus and heads northwards to Birchleigh, Kempton Park on the East Rand. It is an alternative route to the R21 Route for travel between Kempton Park and Vosloorus. Route The M43 begins in Vosloorus, at a junction with the M53 (Brickfield Road). It begins by going eastwards as Bierman Road to reach an interchange with the N3 Freeway. It continues by going north-east through Vredebos as Barry Marais Road to reach a junction with the R103. It continues north-east and flies over the M35 (Heidelberg Road) before passing through the suburb of Villa Liza and meeting the southern terminus of the R21 (Rondebult Road) in the suburb of Dawn Park. Vosloorus
Vosloorus is a large township situated south of Boksburg and just east of Katlehong in Ekurhuleni, just 30 kilometres south-east of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. It was established in 1963 when Black Africans were removed from Stirtonville because it was considered by the government too close to a white town. Stirtonville, renamed Reiger Park, has since become home to Boksburg's coloured community. A local authority was established in 1983 when Vosloorus was given full municipal status. N17 (South Africa)
The N17 is a national route in South Africa which runs from Johannesburg to Oshoek (Ngwenya) on the border with Eswatini. It passes through Springs, Bethal and Ermelo. Background The section of the N17 from Johannesburg to Springs is a dual carriageway and is a national toll route. It was the first urban toll road in Gauteng. It runs from the M11 Wemmer Pan Road in Johannesburg to Tonk Meter Road in Springs. The first part of the N17 used to be the old R77 which ran from the M46 Rand Airport Road to the R23. The M57 is a major metropolitan route in Greater Johannesburg, South Africa. A north/south route, it connects Germiston with the south-eastern suburbs of Pretoria via Kempton Park and Olifantsfontein. For most of its length, it is an alternative route to the R21 freeway. Route The M57 begins at a 4-way-junction with the R29 and M37 in Primrose (north of Germiston City Centre). It starts by heading east-north-east as Pretoria Road and meets the M39 (Lazarus Mawela Road) before crossing the N12 Highway (Johannesburg-Witbank Highway) as Ntemi Ncwane Road (formerly Kraft Road). The M45 is a long metropolitan route in Greater Johannesburg, South Africa. It connects Kempton Park with Dunnottar (north of Nigel) via Benoni, Brakpan, KwaThema and Tsakane. Bonaero Park
Bonaero Park is a southeastern suburb of Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, in Gauteng province, South Africa. It lies directly next to OR Tambo International Airport, the busiest airport in Africa. Bonaero Park was built in the 1960s to house employees from the nearby military aircraft factory owned by Atlas Aircraft Corporation. In 1992 Atlas was absorbed into a new entity known as Denel, becoming part of Denel Aviation. Economy Toyota South Africa has constructed their new parts distribution centre for Southern Africa in Bonaero Park costing 363 million rand. The facility supplies local dealerships with replacement parts and also provides parts to 70 international destinations where South African vehicles are sold. The N12 is a national route in South Africa which runs from George through Beaufort West, Kimberley, Klerksdorp and Johannesburg to eMalahleni. It is the only other National Route after the N1 Route that connects the Western Cape Province with the Gauteng Province. Prior to 1971, the N12 from Johannesburg to Three Sisters was known as the N13. Route Summary The road starts in George in the Western Cape and ends in eMalahleni in Mpumalanga. The M44 is a short metropolitan route in Greater Johannesburg, South Africa. It connects the Elandsfontein industrial suburb in the northern part of Germiston with Petit in the north-eastern part of Benoni. Route The M44 begins in the industrialized suburb of Elandsfontein (south of Isando) in the northern part of Germiston, at a junction with the M39 Road (Barbara Road). R29 (South Africa)
The R29 is a provincial route in South Africa that connects Johannesburg with Leandra and Kinross via Germiston, Boksburg, Benoni and Springs. For much of its route it is named Main Reef Road. The R29 used to end near the Golela border post, however the section from Evander to Ermelo is now part of the N17 (prior to construction of the N17 extension from Leandra to Evander, the N17 followed the alignment of R29 from Leandra; however, the extension of the N17 highway has resulted in the old section of the road being given to R29) and the section from Ermelo to the Golela border post just after Pongola is now part of the N2. Wattville
Wattville is a township south of Benoni in Ekurhuleni Metropolitan municipality, Gauteng, South Africa. It was established in 1941, and by 1948, 400 houses were built on 34 hectares.
