M. Vijayakumar
M. Vijayakumar (born 5 October 1950), is an Indian politician who belongs to the CPI(M). He served as an MLA, minister, and Speaker in the Kerala Legislative Assembly. He has been on the State and Central Committee of CPI(M). As an MLA, he represented the erstwhile Thiruvananthapuram North constituency in the Assembly. Career M. Vijayakumar was born on 5 October 1950 at Panacode near Nedumangad in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala. He holds a B.A. and Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) degree. He entered politics through students' movement and took active part in the formation of Students' Federation of India (SFI) in 1970 and Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) in 1980. Nedumangad is a town and municipality in Thiruvananthapuram metropolitan area of Thiruvananthapuram district in the Indian state of Kerala, and is the headquarters of Nedumangad tehsil and Nedumangad Revenue Division (RDO). The Emergency (India)
The Emergency in India was a 21-month period from 1975 to 1977 when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had a state of emergency declared across the country. Officially issued by President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed under Article 352 of the Constitution because of prevailing "internal disturbance", the Emergency was in effect from 25 June 1975 to its withdrawal on 21 March 1977. The order bestowed upon the Prime Minister the authority to rule by decree, allowing elections to be cancelled and civil liberties to be suspended. For much of the Emergency, most of Gandhi's political opponents were imprisoned and the press was censored. Aruvikkara
Aruvikkara is a panchayat in Thiruvananthapuram district in the state of Kerala, India. It is located on the banks of the Karamana River 15 km from Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of the state of Kerala in South India and one of the 12 panchayats that shares border with Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation. Poojappura
Poojappura known as "The heart of Trivandrum" is a Suburb of Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) in India. It is located in the south-east part of the city, surrounded by Jagathi, Karamana, Mudavanmugal and Thirumala. This place was once used as the worship place during the Navaratri festival season.
