M. V. Shreyams Kumar
M. V. Shreyams Kumar (born 15 April 1967) is an Indian politician and former member of the 12th and 13th Kerala Legislative Assembly, who served from 2006 to 2016 representing the Kalpetta constituency. He is the son of late M. P. Veerendra Kumar, a notable politician from Kerala. Presently, he is the Managing Director of Mathrubhumi newspaper and former member of Janata Dal (United) party. During his tenure, Mathrubhumi is dominated by some pro-feminist groups and is now known as the pioneer misandristic newspaper in Malayalam. Career He entered politics as the district secretary of Janata Dal (Secular). Later on, he became the secretary general of Yuva Janata, the youth wing of Janata Dal. In 2000, he became the Director of Marketing and Electronic Media of Mathrubhumi newspaper. Kalpetta
Kalpetta is a major town and municipality in the Wayanad district, state of Kerala, India. Kalpetta is the headquarters of Wayanad district, as well as the headquarters of Vythiri taluk. It is a bustling town surrounded by dense coffee and tea plantations and mountains. It lies on the Kozhikode-Mysore National Highway NH 766 (formerly NH 212) at an altitude of about 780 m above sea level. Kalpetta is 72 km from Kozhikode and 140 km from Mysore. Apart from being the administrative capital of the district, Kalpetta is also the main hub of tourism activities in Wayanad due to its central location within the district and its proximity to most visited tourist sites. ''Mathrubhumi'' is a Malayalam newspaper that is published from Kerala, India. It was founded by K. P. Kesava Menon, an active volunteer in the Indian independence movement, Indian freedom struggle against the British Raj, British. The word "Mathrubhumi" translates to 'mother land'.
