M. Rex
''M. Rex'' (short for ''Machina Rex'') is a comic book title published by Image Comics' subsidiary Avalon. It began in 1999 and only ran for two issues, but inspired the animated series ''Generator Rex''. Background Avalon Studios was formed in 1999 by Filipino comic book writer Whilce Portacio and American colorist Brian Haberlin. ''M. Rex'' was one of the studio's first titles. It was by Aaron Sowd, Joe Kelly and Duncan Rouleau. It ran for two issues, ''The Actress, the Agent and the Apprentice'' and ''Size Matters''. Image Comics
Image Comics is an American comic book publisher and is the third largest comic book and graphic novel publisher in the industry in both unit and market share. It was founded in 1992 by several high-profile illustrators as a venue for creator-owned properties, in which comics creators could publish material of their own creation without giving up the copyrights to those properties. ''Generator Rex'' is an American animated science fiction television series created by Man of Action for Cartoon Network, with John Fang of Cartoon Network Studios serving as supervising director. It was inspired by the comic '' M. Rex'', published by Image Comics in 1999. The series premiered in the United States on April 23, 2010 on Cartoon Network, and concluded on January 3, 2013. Whilce Portacio
William "Whilce" Portacio (; born July 8, 1963) is a Filipino American comic book writer and artist noted for his work on such titles as ''The Punisher'', ''X-Factor'', ''Uncanny X-Men'', '' Iron Man'', ''Wetworks'' and ''Spawn''. Portacio was also one of the seven co-founders of Image Comics, though he did not become a partner in the company. Early life Whilce Portacio was born July 8, 1963 in Sangley Point, Cavite City, Philippines. He grew up in places such as Midway Island and New Mexico before his family settled in San Diego, California. He began reading comic books at the age of ten, when his neighbor decided to get rid of her husband's collection, and through this, he discovered the work of creators such as Jack Kirby and Neal Adams, who were the two most important influences on Portacio's art. Brian Haberlin
Brian Haberlin is an American comic book artist, writer, editor and producer. He is best known as the co-creator of the ''Witchblade'' franchise and for his digital art style. Career Haberlin was born in Hawaii and raised in La Cañada Flintridge, California, where he soon grew an interest in drawing. By high school, Haberlin's friends turned him into comic books, introducing him to John Byrne's work on ''Uncanny X-Men'' and Frank Miller on '' Daredevil'', along with older artists such as Jim Starlin, Jim Steranko, John Buscema and Barry Smith. Aaron Sowd (born November 3, 1970) is an American comic book creator, writer and artist. Sowd began his comic book career as an inker for Top Cow, Marvel Comics, and DC Comics. He currently works as an illustrator and storyboard artist. Joe Kelly (comics)
Joseph Kelly (born 1971) is an American comic book writer, penciler and editor who has written such titles as ''Deadpool'', ''Uncanny X-Men'', ''Action Comics'', and '' JLA'', as well as award-winning work on ''The Amazing Spider-Man'' and '' Superman''. As part of the comics creator group Man of Action Studios, Kelly is one of the creators of the animated series ''Ben 10''. Duncan Rouleau is an American comic book writer and artist, and is a part of the Man of Action Studios collective of creators (along with Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Steven T. Seagle), who created the series ''Ben 10'', that aired on Cartoon Network. Career Rouleau has illustrated a variety of popular American comic books for Dark Horse Comics, DC Comics, Image Comics, Marvel Comics, and other publishers.
