M.V. Govindan
M V Govindan, popularly known as Govindan Master, is an Indian politician who is the current Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Kerala State Committee, the highest office within the party at the state level, since 2022. He previously served as the State Minister for Local self-governments and Excise in the Second Vijayan Ministry from 2021 to 2022. He became the member of CPI(M) in 1970. He was one of the founding members of DYFI, the youth organisation associated with CPI(M). Prior to that he was KSYF Kannur President and Secretary. He was one of the five members from Kerala in the all India preparatory committee of DYFI formation. He became DYFI's first Kerala State President and later as its secretary. He participated in 1986 Moscow Youth conference. He was the Kasaragod area secretary of CPI(M) when it was still part of Kannur district. Anthoor
Anthoor is a municipality in the Kannur district of the North Malabar region in the Indian state of Kerala. Anthoor is located roughly 15 km from the Kannur City, and 7 km from Taliparamba town. Geography Almost half of Anthoor's border is surrounded by two scenic rivers, the Valapattanam Puzha and the Kuttikkol Puzha. The backwaters at Vellikkeel Eco Tourism Park are a tourist spot. The Emergency (India)
The Emergency in India was a 21-month period from 1975 to 1977 when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had a state of emergency declared across the country. Officially issued by President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed under Article 352 of the Constitution because of prevailing "internal disturbance", the Emergency was in effect from 25 June 1975 to its withdrawal on 21 March 1977. The order bestowed upon the Prime Minister the authority to rule by decree, allowing elections to be cancelled and civil liberties to be suspended. For much of the Emergency, most of Gandhi's political opponents were imprisoned and the press was censored. Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) is a youth organisation in India. It was founded in its inaugural conference held from 1–3 November 1980 at Shaheed Kartar Singh Saraba village in Ludhiana, Punjab. DYFI identifies itself to be an independent organisation. Pinarayi Vijayan
Pinarayi Vijayan (; born 24 May 1945) is an Indian Communist politician who is the current Chief Minister of Kerala, serving since 25 May 2016. A member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), he is the longest-serving secretary of the Kerala State Committee of the CPI(M) (1998–2015). He also served in the government of Kerala as Minister of Electric Power and Co-operatives from 1996 to 1998.
