María Guadalupe Villalobos Vélez (July 18, 1908 – December 13, 1944), known professionally as Lupe Vélez, was a Mexican actress, singer and dancer during the Golden Age of Hollywood cinema. Vélez began her career as a performer in Mexican vaudeville in the early 1920s. After moving to the United States, she made her first film appearance in a short in 1927. By the end of the decade, she was acting in full-length silent films and had progressed to leading roles in ''The Gaucho'' (1927), ''Lady of the Pavements'' (1928) and ''Wolf Song'' (1929), among others. Vélez made the transition to sound films without difficulty. She was one of the first successful Latin-American actresses in Hollywood. Isaias Guadalupe "Lupe" Aquino (born 23 January 1963) is a Mexican former professional boxer who competed from 1981 to 1999. Aquino, known as "Lupe", turned pro in 1981 and won the WBC light middleweight title in 1987 with a decision over Duane Thomas. He lost the title in his first defense via a close decision to Gianfranco Rosi. In 1988 Aquino took on John David Jackson for the inaugural WBO light middleweight title. In the fight, Aquino was put down in 1st and retired after the 7th round. José Guadalupe Pintor Guzmán (born 13 April 1955), better known as Lupe Pintor, is a Mexican former professional boxer who competed from 1974 to 1995. He won the WBC bantamweight title in 1979 after defeating Carlos Zárate Serna, and made eight defenses. In 1985, Pintor defeated Juan Meza to win the WBC super bantamweight title, but lost to Samart Payakaroon in his first defense the following year. Lupe (1967–1989) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse. In a racing career lasting from September 1969 until July 1971, the filly ran seven times and won six races. As a three-year-old she won the Oaks at Epsom and the Yorkshire Oaks at York before sustaining her only defeat in the Prix Vermeille. Lupe returned as a four-year-old and defeated colts to win the Coronation Cup and the Princess of Wales's Stakes. She was then retired from racing and became a successful broodmare.
