Luke Easter (musician)
Luke Easter is an American singer and songwriter. Before becoming a solo artist, he was the lead singer of the Christian metal band Tourniquet. History Easter had been a part of a band called Heaven's Gate, prior to the cult's formation. Easter joined Tourniquet during their 1992 ''Pathogenic Ocular Dissonance'' tour, replacing former vocalist Guy Ritter. According to Easter, Bryan Gray (The Blamed, Rocks in Pink Cement) was the reason for his induction, directing him to bassist Victor Macias. With his addition, the band changed musical direction with the first album to feature Easter, ''Vanishing Lessons''. With Easter on Vocals, the band shifted, with the lineup consisting of Easter, drummer Ted Kirkpatrick, guitarist Aaron Guerra, bassist Victor Macias, and guitarist Gary Lenaire. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. ''Antiseptic Bloodbath'' is the eighth full studio album released on July 19, 2012 by Tourniquet (band), Tourniquet, a Christian metal band formed in 1989 in Los Angeles, California. It is the band's first release since 2003's ''Where Moth and Rust Destroy.'' It was long-time vocalist Luke Easter (musician), Luke Easter's last studio album before he was kicked out in 2015. Azusa (band)
Azusa is a progressive extreme metal supergroup that originated in 2018 as a project between cousins and former Extol members, Christer Espevoll and David Husvik. The two had been demoing material, when then The Dillinger Escape Plan bassist Liam Wilson expressed admiration for Extol. The three added on pop vocalist Eleni Zafiriadou of Sea + Air, and the band recorded their debut album, ''Heavy Yoke''. The band is currently signed with Solid State Records. History Azusa began between cousins Christer Espevoll and David Husvik, who had originally formed the progressive metal band Extol, who reached great acclaim in their run. Extol
Extol are a Christian metal band from Bekkestua, Norway that was formed in 1993. The band is known for playing a variety of different styles of metal which include progressive metal, death metal, black metal and thrash metal. Over the course of their career, the band has released five studio albums and two EPs. The band are noted for their precise, technical musicianship. The fourth album, '' The Blueprint Dives'', received a Spellemannsprisen nomination for Best Metal Album of 2005. Extol has toured the United States and Europe several times with such bands as Mastodon, God Forbid and Opeth. Collectively, Extol has sold over 500,000 albums worldwide. David Husvik
David Husvik is a Norwegian drummer who has played in metal bands Extol, Absurd², Twisted Into Form and InSection and Aperture, a jazz and acoustic rock project. David Husvik helped to start Pirates N 'Thieves in 2007. He also performed in a side-project of Extol called Ganglion. Background Husvik began his musical career with Extol. The band has been highly influential to bands all around. The band has been Husvik's main musical career before the band disbanded in 2007, where Husvik took a musical break alongside his cousin Peter Espevoll, while the remaining three members, went on to form Mantric. Demon Hunter is an American Christian metal band from Seattle, Washington, started in 2000 by brothers Don Clark and Ryan Clark. Although the brothers created the band together, only Ryan remains, since Don left the band to take care of his family. As of early 2010, the band has sold over half a million albums. The band's style is known for combining nu metal sounds and qualities with ones heard in metalcore. The name references historic and folkloric demon hunters. Since its formation, the band has released 12 studio albums, 3 extended plays, 1 live extended play, and 1 compilation album. History Early releases (1992–1998) Disciple was formed in December 1992 by high school friends Kevin Young, Brad Noah, Adrian DiTommasi and Tim Barrett. Stryper
Stryper is an American Christian metal band from Orange County, California. The group's lineup consists of Michael Sweet (lead vocals, guitar), Oz Fox (guitar), Perry Richardson (bass guitar), and Robert Sweet (drums). Formed in 1983 as Roxx Regime, the band soon changed their musical message to reflect their Christian beliefs, and the band's name was also changed to Stryper. They went on to become the first overtly Christian heavy metal band to gain acceptance in the mainstream. In 1983, they signed with major label Enigma Records and released their debut album '' The Yellow and Black Attack''.
