Luis Ortega Bru
Luis Ortega Brú (September 16, 1916 – November 21, 1982) was a Spanish sculptor and carver. He was famed for his Christian figures, especially Jesus and the Virgin Mary. Biography A native of San Roque, Cádiz San Roque is a municipality of Spain belonging to the province of Cádiz, which in turn is part of the autonomous community of Andalusia. His parents were shot during the Spanish Civil War, and in 1940 he was sentenced to three years' imprisonment for the offense of aiding the rebellion.
