Luis Herrera (cyclist)
Luis Alberto "Lucho" Herrera Herrera, known as "El jardinerito" ("the little gardener") (born May 4, 1961 in Fusagasugá, Colombia), is a retired Colombian road racing cyclist. Herrera was a professional from 1985 to 1992 but had a successful amateur career before that in Colombia. He entered his first Vuelta a Colombia in 1981 where he finished 16th overall and 3rd in the New Rider competition. Although he abandoned his second Vuelta a Colombia in 1982, he won Colombia's second major stage-race the Clásico RCN. In 1983 Herrera won Clásico RCN again as well as two stages and finishing second overall to Alfonso Florez Ortiz in the 1983 Vuelta a Colombia. In 1984 he would win the Vuelta a Colombia, the Clásico RCN as well as winning stage 17 to Alpe d'Huez in the 1984 Tour de France, becoming the first Colombian to win a stage of the race, and the first amateur cyclist to win a stage in the history of the Tour de France. Luis Herrera (tennis)
Luis-Enrique Herrera (born 27 August 1971) is a Mexican former professional tennis player. Career Herrera was Mexico's national champion in the 12s, 14s and 16s junior events. He partnered Mark Knowles in the Boys' Doubles at the 1989 French Open and they finished runners-up. He broke into the top 100 for the first time in 1991, after some good performances on the ATP Tour. Herrera reached the semi-final of the Seoul Open and the quarter-final in Washington. En route to the Washington quarter finals he defeated John McEnroe. He also won the gold medal at the 1991 Pan American Games, held in Cuba. In 1992, he reached the third round of the Wimbledon Championships, having beaten veteran Jimmy Connors in four sets and Japan's Shuzo Matsuoka in five sets. This was the furthest a Mexican had gone at Wimbledon since Raúl Ramírez reached the quarters in 1978. Luis Antonio Herrera Campins (4 May 1925 – 9 November 2007) was the president of Venezuela from 1979 to 1984. He was elected to one five-year term in 1978. He was a member of COPEI, a Christian Democratic party. Early life and career Luis Antonio Herrera Campins was born in Acarigua, Portuguesa (state), Portuguesa. He studied law initially at Central University of Venezuela, though his studies were interrupted when he was imprisoned during the regime of Marcos Pérez Jiménez after he organized a strike against the dictator. He continued his studies and writings in exile in Spain and Germany. He eventually earned his law degree in 1955 from the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela. Herrera entered politics in 1937, and from 1959 to 1979 he served in the National Congress. He became President of Venezuela on 12 March 1979. Luis Bayón Herrera (23 September 1889 – 30 March 1956) was a Spanish film director and screenwriter who worked in Argentine film of the 1940s and 1950s. He was "one of the most important directors of the golden age of Argentine cinema". Herrera was born in Bilbao, Spain. He directed some 40 different Argentine feature films and in the last few years of his career in the early 1950s he worked on Cuban production with films such as '' A La Habana me voy'' in 1951. Luis Beder Herrera (born 26 May 1951) is an Argentine Justicialist Party (PJ) politician. He was the governor of La Rioja Province from 2007 to 2015. Born in Campanas, La Rioja, Herrera graduated as a lawyer in 1976 from the National University of the Littoral. In 1983 he was re-elected as a provincial deputy for Famatina Department, serving until 1989 with a period as 1st Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies.
