'' Luger'' is a 1982 Dutch film directed by Theo van Gogh. The film was written and directed (his debut) by van Gogh and was filmed in black and white. Cast The lead role (Chris Luger) is played by Thom Hoffman who plays a psychopath with fascist tendencies. The other main role is played by Laurien Hildering (her only acting credit). Synopsis The film is about the kidnapping of the mentally impaired daughter of a millionaire. The kidnapping is an attempt to get rich quickly by the main character. The father refuses, however, to pay the ransom. Theodoor van Gogh (; 23 July 1957 – 2 November 2004) was a Dutch film director. He directed ''Submission (2004 film), Submission: Part 1'', a short film written by Somali writer and politician Ayaan Hirsi Ali, which criticised the treatment of women in Islam in strong terms. On 2 November 2004, he was murdered by Mohammed Bouyeri, a Islam in the Netherlands, Dutch-Moroccan Islamist who objected to the film's message. The last film Van Gogh had completed before his murder, ''06/05'', was a fictional exploration of the assassination of Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn (1948–2002). Thomas Antonius Cornelis Ancion (born 3 March 1957), known by the pseudonym Thom Hoffman, is a Dutch actor and photographer.Note: parts of this article have been translated from the Dutch version of this page.
