Ludvig Holberg
Ludvig Holberg, Baron of Holberg (3 December 1684 – 28 January 1754) was a writer, essayist, philosopher, historian and playwright born in Bergen, Norway, during the time of the Dano-Norwegian dual monarchy. He was influenced by Humanism, the Enlightenment and the Baroque. Holberg is considered the founder of modern Danish and Norwegian literature. He is best known for the comedies he wrote in 1722–1723 for the Lille Grønnegade Theatre in Copenhagen. Holberg's works about natural and common law were widely read by many Danish law students over two hundred years, from 1736 to 1936. Studies and teaching Holberg was the youngest of six brothers. Ludvig "Ludde" Strigeus (born January 1981) is a Swedish programmer, best known for developing software such as the BitTorrent client μTorrent, '' OpenTTD'', and Spotify. Early life and education Strigeus was born in January 1981, and he graduated from Chalmers University of Technology with a master's degree in computer science and engineering. Ludvig Mariboe Benjamin Aubert (22 November 1838 – 5 February 1896) was a Norwegian professor, jurist and government official. Biography Aubert was born at Christiania (now Oslo), Norway. He was the son of professor Ludvig Cæsar Martin Aubert (1807-1887) and his wife Ida Dorothea Mariboe (1811–1900). Aubert's brother was art educator and historian Fredrik Ludvig Andreas Vibe Aubert (1851–1913). From 1855, Aubert was a law student at the University of Christiania (now University of Oslo) graduating Cand.jur. in 1860. He started his career as a magistrate at Nord-Gudbrandsdal District Court. Ludvig Hektoen (July 2, 1863 – July 5, 1951) was an American pathologist known for his work in the fields of pathology, microbiology and immunology. Hektoen was appointed to the National Academy of Sciences in 1918, and served as president of many professional societies, including the American Association of Immunologists in 1927 and the American Society for Microbiology in 1929. He was the founding editor of the '' Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine'' in 1926 and edited several other medical journals. He was knighted to the Order of St. Olav in 1929, and in 1933, he became professor emeritus of pathology at the University of Chicago. Johan Ludvig Carl Christian Tido Holstein (10 June 1839 – 1 March 1912), was a Danish politician who was Minister of State of Denmark. He was Council President of Denmark for two months, from 16 August to 28 October 1909. He also served as Defence Minister of Denmark from 18 October to 28 October 1909. Biography Holstein was the son of Count Christian Edzard Moritz (1809-1895) and Caroline Louise Lefeubre de Marpalu (1810-1903). He was a descendant of Danish Minister of state Johan Ludvig Holstein-Ledreborg (1694–1763). Hammarskiöld's senior commands include commanding officer of the 2nd Army Division and the Eastern Army Division, the position of Commandant General of Stockholm Garrison, Master-General of the Ordnance and Inspector of the Artillery. Ludvig Schytte
Ludvig Schytte (28 April 1848 in Aarhus – 10 November 1909 in Berlin) was a Danish composer, pianist, and teacher. Born in Aarhus, Denmark, Schytte originally trained as a pharmacist. He studied with Niels Gade and Edmund Neupert. In 1884, he travelled to Germany to study with Franz Liszt. Schytte lived and taught in Vienna between 1886 and 1907 and spent the last two years of his life teaching in Berlin. His daughter Anna Schytte was also a composer and pianist. Schytte composed a ''Piano Concerto in C-sharp minor, Opus 28'', and a ''Sonata in B-flat'', among numerous other piano works. He also wrote two operas: ''Hero'' (25 September 1898 in Copenhagen) and ''Der Mameluk'' (22 December 1903 in Vienna). Ludvig Teodor Almqvist (4 January 1818 in Gränna, Sweden – August 26, 1884, on the island of Selaön), a Sweden, Swedish politician, was the son of Sven Johan Almqvist, vicar and priest. He served as the Minister for Civil Service Affairs in Louis Gerhard De Geer, Louis De Geer’s first cabinet (1856–1860). In 1867, he was elected to be first deputy speaker of the Upper House of the Swedish Parliament. On November 2, 1860, he took his place as member of the Supreme Court of Sweden. In 1867, he became Chief Justice of the Svea Court of Appeal; in 1870, he became a member of the Supreme Court of Sweden again. Almqvist served as Minister for Justice in Louis Gerhard De Geer, Louis De Geer’s second cabinet (1879–1880). He was made Knight of the Order of the Seraphim in 1882.
