''Hallucination Strip'' (originally titled ''Roma drogata: la polizia non può intervenire'') is an Italian 1975 poliziottesco film directed by Lucio Marcaccini as his first and only film. Singer Sammy Barbot appeared in the film and performed the film's opening song "We've Got A Lord". The song appeared on the film's original soundtrack. Plot Massimo Monaldi, a student involved in political protests, steals a valuable tobacco box and becomes entangled in a deadly web between the police and the mafia. Bud Cort
Walter Edward Cox, known professionally as Bud Cort, is an American actor and comedian, known for his portrayals of Harold in Hal Ashby's film ''Harold and Maude'' (1971) and the eponymous hero in Robert Altman's film ''Brewster McCloud'' (1970). Career Cort was discovered in a revue by director Robert Altman, who subsequently cast him in two of his movies, ''M*A*S*H'' and ''Brewster McCloud'', in which he played the title role. Cort went on to his best-known role as the suicide-obsessed Harold in ''Harold and Maude''. Though it was not particularly successful on release, it gained international cult status and is now considered an American classic. In 1979, Cort nearly died in a car accident on the Hollywood Freeway where he collided with an abandoned car blocking a lane into which he was turning. Eva Czemerys (born 1940) is a German-born film actress, mainly active in Italy. Born in Munich to Russian parents, her family moved to Rome, Italy when she was only 1. She studied acting and debuted as the main actress in 1971 in ''Bella di giorno moglie di notte''. She was a minor starlet in Italian cinema, especially in Commedia sexy all'italiana, commedie sexy all'italiana and giallo films. Poliziotteschi (; singular ''poliziottesco'') constitute a subgenre of crime and action films that emerged in Italy in the late 1960s and reached the height of their popularity in the 1970s. They are also known as ''polizieschi all'italiana'', ''Euro-crime'', ''Italo-crime'', ''spaghetti crime films'', or simply ''Italian crime films''. Influenced by both 1970s French crime films and gritty 1960s and 1970s American cop films and vigilante films, poliziotteschi films were made amidst an atmosphere of socio-political turmoil in Italy known as Years of Lead and increasing Italian crime rates. Umberto Raho (4 June 1922 – 9 January 2016) was an Italian stage, film and television actor. Life and career Born in Bari, the son of an Italian father and a Bulgarian mother, Raho graduated in philosophy and then, immediately after the war, he debuted on stage. While theater was his main activity, Raho was also a very prolific film character actor, with over one hundred credits starting from 1948. He was also active in television films and series. Ennio Balbo
Ennio Balbo (18 April 1922 – 18 June 1989) was an Italian film, television and voice actor. Biography Born in Naples, Balbo made his debut on stage immediately after the Second World War alongside Paola Borboni and Lamberto Picasso in Luigi Pirandello's ''Così è se vi pare''. He was later a member of the theater company of Gino Cervi, as well as one of the members of the "Society of the Four" alongside Valeria Moriconi, Lia Zoppelli and Gianni Agus. He was also very active as a character actor in films, mainly in villain roles; Balbo took part to numerous Spaghetti Western films in which he was usually credited as Edward Bell. Maurizio Arena
Maurizio Arena (26 December 1933 – 21 November 1979) was an Italian film actor. He appeared in more than 70 films between 1952 and 1978. Life and career Born in Rome as Maurizio Di Lorenzo, Arena made his film debut at nineteen years old, with a small role in ''Bellezze in moto-scooter''. His breakout role came in 1956 with the role of Romolo in the successful Dino Risi's romance-comedy film ''Poveri ma belli''. Until the early 1960s Arena was one of the most popular actors in the Italian cinema, and was a regular feature of gossip columns for his tumultuous personal life. In later years his celebrity declined, and Arena found roles as a character actor in smaller films, and occasionally worked as a singer. He became an alternative medicine healer with some local following. He died at age 45 following a heart attack, a complication from a long-standing renal condition.
