Luciano Parodi González (born February 16, 1994) is a Uruguayan professional basketball player for Hebraica Macabi of the Uruguayan Basketball League, Uruguayan League. A three-time Uruguayan Basketball League, Uruguayan League champion with Hebraica Macabi. Parodi was named Uruguayan Basketball League MVP, Uruguayan League MVP and Uruguayan Basketball League Finals MVP, Finals MVP in 2016. Early life Parodi was born in Paysandú, Uruguay. He played for Paysandú and Hebraica Macabi youth teams. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. The FIBA AmeriCup (previously known as the FIBA Americas Championship) is the Americas Basketball Championship that takes place every four years between national teams of the Western Hemisphere continents. Since FIBA organised the entire Western Hemisphere west of the Atlantic Ocean under one zone, countries from North America, Central America, the Caribbean and South America compete in this tournament. Through the 2015 edition, the Americas Championship took place every two years, and was also a qualifying tournament for the FIBA World Cup and the Summer Olympic Games. The 2017 FIBA AmeriCup was the 18th edition of the FIBA AmeriCup, which is the main tournament for senior men's basketball national teams of the FIBA Americas. The tournament was held in Medellín, Colombia, Montevideo, Uruguay, and Bahía Blanca and Córdoba, in Argentina, from 25 August, to 3 September 2017. The 2015 FIBA Americas Championship for Men, later known as the FIBA AmeriCup, was the FIBA Americas qualifying tournament for the 2016 Summer Olympics, in Brazil.
