Lubomír Jedek
Lubomír Jedek, also known as Luboš Jedek (born 21 June 1962), is a Czech former motorcycle speedway rider. He was capped by the Czechoslovak national speedway team. Career Jedek came to prominence in 1981 after reaching the final of the 1981 Individual Speedway Junior European Championship. He competed in the individual championships of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic from 1981 until 1998, winning a bronze medal in 1986 and 1991. He also raced longtrack and competed in the final of the 1987 Individual Long Track World Championship. The same year he represented the Czechoslovak national team during the final of the 1987 Speedway World Team Cup. Jedek raced in the Team Speedway Polish Championship from 1991 to 1992. Although he did not race in the British leagues, he toured the United Kingdom in 1986. Zlín (in 1949–1989 Gottwaldov; ; german: Zlin) is a city in the Czech Republic. It has about 73,000 inhabitants. It is the seat of the Zlín Region and it lies on the Dřevnice river. The Markéta Stadium (Czech - Plochodrážní stadion Markéta) is a 10,000-capacity multi-use stadium on U Vojtěšky in Břevnov, Prague, Czech Republic. The stadium has been the home of the Speedway Grand Prix of Czech Republic since 1997. The speedway track has a circumference of 353 metres (386 yards). The stadium opened during the 1930s as an athletics ground and is home to the athletics club PSK Olymp Praha and the Prague speedway team AK Marketa Praha. Brandon Stadium
Brandon Stadium, also known as Coventry Stadium, is located 6 miles east of Coventry in Brandon, Warwickshire, England. It was the home of the Coventry Bees motorcycle speedway team. It also hosted BriSCA F1 Stock Car Racing on the 1st Saturday of the month from April through to November. From 1978 until early 2016 it intermittently hosted greyhound racing. As of 2022, it is closed and has become dilapidated after several fires, including an arson attack. Speedway History Brandon Stadium's first speedway meeting took place on 29 September 1928. The track was owned by Midland Sports Stadiums (who also owned Leicester Speedway) and Charles Ochiltree promoted the Speedway and Stock Car Racing until his death in 1998.
