Lu Kun-chi
Lu Kun-chi (, born 6 February 1985 in Tainan County (now part of Tainan City), Republic of China) is a Taiwanese football goalkeeper. Nicknamed ''Taiwanese Buffon'' (台灣布馮), he is the first choice goalkeeper in the Chinese Taipei national football team. Biography Early years Lu was born in Tainan County, Taiwan. He has one brother and one sister, among whom he is the youngest. Lu started to play football at the age of 10 after his family moved to Jiali, another township in Tainan other than which he was born. He has played goalkeeper since age 11 in Jiali Primary School and Jiali Junior High School. When he was 14, his height reached 180 cm (5 ft 11 in). It was thought he was likely to be included in the Chinese Taipei U-15 squad, but he was not. Jiali District
Jiali District () is a district located in northern Tainan, Taiwan, about 15 km north of the former Dutch base of Fort Zeelandia. History In the 17th century, the place was named ''Soulang'' after one of the four subtribes of the local Siraya aborigines. ''Soulang'' was a village of about 1,500 inhabitants about north of Fort Zeelandia, and became a station of the Dutch East India Company. Yokohama FC
is a Japanese professional football club based in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, part of the Greater Tokyo Area. The club currently plays in the J1 League, which is the first tier of football in the country. The club was formed by fans of Yokohama Flügels as a protest against Flügels' merger with Yokohama Marinos in 1999, becoming the first supporter-owned professional sports team in Japan. Since gaining J.League membership in 2001, Yokohama FC long lasted at the second tier of the Japanese football league system. The club gained promotion to J.League Division 1 for the 2007 season, promoted after winning the Division 2 title. However, YFC were immediately relegated in the following season. Júbilo Iwata
is a professional Japanese association football team that currently play in the J2 League. The team name ''Júbilo'' means 'joy' in Spanish and Portuguese. The team's hometown is Iwata, Shizuoka prefecture and they play at Yamaha Stadium. For big fixtures such as the Shizuoka Derby with Shimizu S-Pulse and against some of the top teams in J1, Júbilo play at the much larger Ecopa Stadium in Fukuroi City, a venue built specifically for the 2002 FIFA World Cup finals. Masakazu Suzuki
is a former Japanese football player and manager. Playing career Suzuki was born in Yamanashi Prefecture on January 1, 1955. After graduating from Nippon Sport Science University, he played for Yamaha Motors (later ''Júbilo Iwata'') from 1977 to 1982. Coaching career After retirement, Suzuki started coaching career at Yamaha Motors in 1984. He served as a coach. In 2000, he was promoted to manager as Gjoko Hadžievski successor. Listed below are the dates and results for the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualification rounds for Asia. 44 Asian teams are affiliated with FIFA, but Cambodia, Philippines, Bhutan and Brunei decided not to take part, and Myanmar was banned from the competition (for refusing to play a qualifier in Iran during 2002 qualifying), so a total of 39 teams took part, competing for 4.5 places in the World Cup. Format The qualification was composed of three rounds. Only the 14 last ranked teams according to FIFA took part in the Preliminary Round, where they were paired 2-by-2 and played home-and-away knock-out matches. The 7 winners joined the other 25 teams in the Second Round, where those 32 teams were divided in 8 groups of four teams each.
