Lt. Raymond Enners Award
The Lt. Raymond Enners Award is an award given annually to the NCAA's most outstanding player in men's college lacrosse. The award is presented by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) and is named after 1st Lt. Raymond J. Enners, who attended the United States Military Academy, class of 1967, and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. While leading a platoon, he was killed in combat on September 18, 1968. Enners received the Distinguished Service Cross, the Bronze Star Medal, and the Purple Heart for extraordinary heroism in combat in South Vietnam. He was a member of the 1963 All-Long Island lacrosse team, a 1967 USILA Honorable Mention All-American, and was inducted into the Suffolk County Hall of Fame in 2004. The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is a nonprofit organization that regulates student athletics among about 1,100 schools in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Jeff Cook (lacrosse)
Jeffrey "Jeff" Cook was an All-American lacrosse player at Johns Hopkins University from 1979 to 1982. Lacrosse career Cook who prepped at St. Paul's School (Brooklandville, Maryland) and McDonogh School, led Johns Hopkins to a 51 and 5 record during his time there. With the Blue Jays, Cook won national titles in 1979 and 1980. He is ranked sixth all-time in Hopkin's career scoring with 219 points. Cook earned first-team All America honors two years and second-team honors while in college, as well as being named the National Collegiate Player of the Year and the National Collegiate Attackman of the Year winner in 1981. Cook also led Hopkins to championship finals in 1981 and 1982, getting upset by UNC 14-13, Hopkins' first title game loss in the preceding four years, and losing also to North Carolina 7-5 in 1982. Doug Knight
Doug Knight is an American lacrosse player who had a standout collegiate career at the University of Virginia, where he set numerous scoring records. He was inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2017. High school and collegiate career A native of Katonah, New York, Knight attended Hackley School in Tarrytown NY through the 10th grade and then attended prep school at the Westminster School in Connecticut, where he excelled in lacrosse, soccer, and ice hockey and was selected as a high school lacrosse All-American. Knight played attack at the University of Virginia from 1994 to 1997, where he set numerous scoring records and was named a three time All-American, as a Second Team selection in 1995 and a First Team selection in 1996 and 1997. Terry Riordan
Terry Riordan (born July 27, 1973) is a former professional lacrosse player. He was a member of Major League Lacrosse's Los Angeles Riptide and plays attack. He also played for the Long Island Lizards in 2001 and 2002. Terry's brother James played lacrosse at Penn and another brother, Dan, had a brief career in the NLL. In 2008, Riordan scored 13 goals with 2 assists in helping the Riptide to a 7 and 5 record. College career Riordan played high school lacrosse in Baldwin, Long Island where he was All-County. Scott S. Bacigalupo is a former lacrosse goaltender. He was a high school All-American, four-time collegiate United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American, three-time National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) goaltender of the year, two-time NCAA tournament outstanding player and a national player of the year. The Princeton Tigers men's lacrosse team represents Princeton University in NCAA Division I men's lacrosse play. Princeton currently competes as a member of the Ivy League and plays its home games at the Class of 1952 Stadium in Princeton, New Jersey. Prior to the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship tournament, Princeton was voted as national champion six times, in 1884, 1885, 1937, 1942, 1951, and 1953. Darren Lowe was a three-time All-American NCAA lacrosse player at Brown University from 1989 to 1992 who led his team to three straight NCAA tournament quarterfinal appearances. Career Highlights During Lowe's four years at Brown, the team compiled a record of 45 wins and 16 losses, with the 1991 squad compiling a 13 and 1 record. Dave Pietramala
Dave Pietramala (born 1967) is the defensive coordinator for the Syracuse University Men's Lacrosse team and the former head coach for the Johns Hopkins University Men's Lacrosse team. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest defensemen in lacrosse history, and is a member of the U.S. Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Gary Charles Gait (born April 5, 1967) is a Canadian retired Hall of Fame professional lacrosse player and currently the head coach of the men’s lacrosse team at Syracuse University, where he played the sport collegiately. On January 24, 2017, he was named the Interim Commissioner of the United Women's Lacrosse League. Lawrence J. Quinn (born March 9, 1963) was an All-American lacrosse goaltender at the Johns Hopkins University from 1982 to 1985, leading the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays to the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship in 1984 and 1985, and two additional finals appearances in 1982 and 1983.
