Lovers Lane (album)
''Lovers Lane'' is the debut album by M.C. Brains, released on March 17, 1992, through Motown. The album is perhaps best known for its lead single, "Oochie Coochie", which became the only top-40 hit in M.C. Brains short career, peaking at number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100. The album fared less well, only reaching number 47 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200. Brains' labelmates Boyz II Men were featured on the album's second single "Brainstorming", as well as the song entitled "Boyz II Men (The Sequel)". The latter song's chorus was interpolated in the group's own sophomore album, II (Boyz II Men album), II (1994). Motown
Motown Records is an American record label owned by the Universal Music Group. It was founded by Berry Gordy Jr. as Tamla Records on June 7, 1958, and incorporated as Motown Record Corporation on April 14, 1960. Its name, a portmanteau of ''motor'' and ''town'', has become a nickname for Detroit, where the label was originally headquartered. Boyz II Men (pronounced ''boys to men''), also known as B2M, is an American vocal harmony group from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, best known for emotional ballads and a cappella harmonies. ''II'' is the second studio album (discounting their Christmas album) - hence the title - by American R&B quartet Boyz II Men, released on August 30, 1994, on Motown, Motown Records. Michael Bivins
New Edition is an American R&B/Pop group from the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, formed in 1978 by Bobby Brown. Their name is taken to mean a 'new edition' of the Jackson 5. The group reached its height of popularity in the 1980s and are considered the "blue print" for what would become the "modern boy band". The lineup originally consisted of Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Bobby Brown, Ronnie DeVoe, and Ralph Tresvant. Brown left the group in late 1985 to begin a successful solo career, and they continued as a quartet for one album, before adding Johnny Gill to the lineup in 1987. Shawn Stockman
Shawn Patrick Stockman (born September 26, 1972) is an American singer, songwriter and record producer. He is best known as a member of the vocal group Boyz II Men. In addition to Boyz II Men, Stockman was a member of the group Black Men United. He was also a judge on the NBC television show ''The Sing-Off'' for five seasons (2009-2014). Early life and education Stockman, a native of Southwest Philadelphia, started singing with the Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale at the age of 8.
